• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Brakes pulsing

Well, never mind. I took a good look at the front rotors tonight. The right rotor has an uneven pattern of score marks, indicating the presence of runout. My floor jack doesn't fit under the bike, so I can't get the wheels off the ground. Looks like a trip to Harbor Freight is in order. I'm...

    Brakes pulsing

My brake pedal pulses as I slow down, and the harder I stop the harder the pulsing. It's not the fast pulsing you get from an ABS system - it seems to match wheel speed. I can't tell if it's front or rear. It feels like either a warped rotor or uneven material transfer to the rotor, so I tried...

    Sugru to the rescue!

I mounted my new Spyderpops cat converter heat shields on my RT a couple of nights ago, and the next day I found the left one flopping around because the clips didn't stay put in the casting holes. The holes are a shade too big. One clip was gone, so I found another with the same head size, but...

    Blue Cut Fire

My family and I have been through two wildfires; we lost our attached garage in 2003, and then in 2007 we spent a week at the local high shool after a mandatory evacuation. It is no fun. The stress of loading up vehicles with kids, pets, and important documents in five minutes, driving through...

    Frunk getting hard to unlatch

Similar problem after "repair" My frunk won't unlatch at all with the key now that the local Spyder Whiz has had his way with her. (BRP-style alignment) What is the best way to access the latch assembly to check it? He also improved my LED daytime running lights by tying down the wire on the...

    Coming around

Now that my bike is running right, I'm starting to get some glimpses of what Spyder ryding is about. I'm taking the curves a little quicker and more confidently, and the roads that gave me fits before are getting smoother and smoother. Thank you all for the constant encouragement through...

Finally, after 6 long, long weeks!

What a difference! My Spyder rydes like it's supposed to! I picked it up and rode it home, taking the long way with fast twisties. No more darting about- I was able to control it with two fingers at 55 mph on a straight stretch. I felt much more confident, even after 6 weeks of downtime...

    Spyder Sightings

Grey F3 I followed a grey F3 for a couple of miles on my commute home yesterday from Carlsbad CA to Valley Center CA. From Barham to Woodland Pky in San Marcos. Nice machine. I was in my white Ridgeline.

Finally, after 6 long, long weeks!

I'll have my '12 Spyder :spyder2: RT-L back for the weekend! Air scoop kit, new ball joints, and a ridiculously expensive BRP alignment, all paid for with Other People's Money. I sure hope the wait was worth it!

    Zumo 660 alternatives?

Has anyone yanked the GPS system from their RT-L? What did you fill the spot with? I am not a fan of stand-alone GPS units and would like to use Waze on my Android phone instead, but the integration of the Zumo into the RT-L Spyder system makes it tricky. Ideally, I would like to mount my...

    Quick loctite question

Vibra-Tite for me! I got a sample of Vibra-tite a couple of months ago, and I really like it. It doesn't run all over the place, and it smells just like that old bubble toy where you squeezed a blob onto the end of a thin straw and blew it up. I especially like the fact that you can take it...

Well after I month I traded up....

Beautiful F3!! That's what I need to do with mine. Had it since Memorial Day, and then I took a ride on the same bike you just bought. How do you work a trade so you don't take a pounding in the wallet?

I really want to like this bike...

Still no bike At least I can amuse myself. My SmoothSpyder belt tensioner came today. I think I'll sit in the corner and spin the wheel and make vroom vroom sounds...

Flat rate time for BRP alignment? (2012 RTL)

The service manual procedure, while it requires a laser level, isn't like the Laser Alignment that Squared Away does. The wheels have to come off, and a long alignment bar is clamped to the frame. A lot more fiddling around for a less precise alignment. It has to be aligned after the ball...

Flat rate time for BRP alignment? (2012 RTL)

Does anyone know the warranty flat rate time allowance for performing the alignment procedure in the service manual? The dealership want to align my bike after the ball joints are replaced, and they are hitting up the warranty company for 3.5 hours. The warranty company (RPM One) says no way, we...

    Ryding in the rain

It hasn't rained here in months, and I've never ridden in the rain. How do you deal with the rain on your helmet visor or goggles? Rain-X? Wipe every 10 seconds?

Side compartments stuck - Please help!

Be careful with the back panel. I broke off a tab when I installed my rear lights and now I have to glue it back on.
