• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Keeping warm

Another vote here for Ice Breaker Merino wool products. My wife and I have several items each of their products and love them. Merino wool doesn't feel itchy like other wool products and doesn't smell like wool when wet or dry. Also doesn't stink if for some reason you have to wear it for long...

Now that Victory Motorcycles is dead

With regard to BRP hosting the 10th anniversary homecoming, I seriously doubt they would bother doing that if they were going to announce that they were exiting the business. I had a 2012 Gold Wing and sold it in order to get the Spyder. I considered trikeing it for about as long as it took me...

    Spyder Homecoming

Yes, I agree completely that using your credit is the easiest thing and is what we do when in the US. We just have some US cash for some small things. Similarly for us going to the US, cell phones can be a big pita because of roaming charges etc. If you by chance have an unlocked cell phone you...

10th Anniversary of the Spyder June 2,3,4th 2017

My only experience with your question is that we have been asked going into the US from Canada if we have any prescription drugs with us? When I said yes, the border agent asked if they were in the original prescription bottle and I said yes and he seemed OK with that. I assume the same would...

    Carl Edwards to retire

It does seem a little odd. I like Carl and will miss him. Always a good interview and a pretty clean racer and usually admitted when he was at fault. Brad, not so much. Gary

    I've been wondering

I know KLIM sells a helmet with a Transitions shield and obviously others do too (per Ann). Ask Revzilla as I suspect they will have some insight. As to cars etc, probably a cost consideration. Gary

Obviously early signs (it's only January) that "cabin fever" has set in. But I like it. :) Gary

2015 rt heated seat wireing question

Only thing that comes to mind is the sensor to tell the Spyder that there is a passenger sitting on the seat. Should plug from seat to Spyder under the seat. Am thinking you don't have a heated seat as it isn't standard. Others should be able to clarify/fill in the details. Gary

    Passenger navigation ideas

Seems like a good enough idea to try. Not going to be out a lot of money if you don't like it. We have done many thousands of miles with paper maps. My wife is a good map reader and usually just tucks it in a pocket or back of my backrest and pulls it out if needed. The only problem is the wind...

    Riding On Wet Surfaces

Hydroplaning can happen and speed will be a one big factor in determining that BUT I don't think you should become paranoid about it. If I was not experienced on riding the Spyder and other 2 wheeled touring bikes and read this thread, I might get overly concerned. Yes, slow down some and get a...

    Another shooting...

Reports say he came from Alaska through Canadian air space, not from Canada. Again reports say that he checked his gun or guns in at what ever airport in Alaska he flew from. In addition, Air Canada also tweeted that they have no record of anyone by that name on any of their flights nor any...

    Ewwwwww......

I must admit that when we travel we are somewhat concerned about this subject. We usually take a look at the sheets etc but mostly we try to keep our bags and stuff closed and in places where we hope they won't visit. When we get home nothing get put way without be washed and aired out. Hope...

    Rivco Trunk Rack

Bought the black one and installed it in the fall. Very easy to install and very functional. tip and OverHillAndDale pretty much have it all covered. I used 2 layers of painters tape at the spot where holes were to be drilled to prevent the bit from wandering at all and always use a small bit...

Your Tail Bag Luggage Rack Suggestions

robhowen, There are not a lot of other options to the top mount trunk racks that are much different than these IMHO. Diamond R does make one that is flat, and not sloping, much like the Rivco. Their website shows it I believe. I just installed the Rivco this fall and am happy with it. Paula...
