• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Walk of Heroes Veterans Memorial Vandalized

Such a sad commentary on people in our society today. There are no words for this. Gary

Road trip to Newfoundland this summer

Hi. Actually a little more info would be helpful in providing thoughts such as what time of the summer, how long are you there and what your interests are. I'm assuming that you plan to go by Spyder. Although we have traveled across Canada on our Spyder, when we went to NFLD, we flew to Deer...

    Ford's Ecoboost....who has one?

I have 2 different neighbours that have them. One is a friend who is a "car guy" and he has always been into V8's for his trucks. His prior F150 was an 8 so I was surprised when he got the ecoboost. He loves it and says it is way better than the prior 8 for pulling his 18-20 foot inboard boat...

Working on a rear tire change, need some quick help

Just so you don't feel alone and frustrated. You're not alone. I've done mine twice for rear tire replacement. It's all pretty easy until it comes to the adjustment. The last time I did it, it took me a few days with a little time in between for ME to cool down, not the muffler. You've heard of...

Looking into a little sports car

The Miata is a nice little car but have you and your significant other (assuming you have one) sat in one? We considered one back in 2007 and found that my 5'3" wife had very limited space to stretch out her legs with the way the dash came down in her foot well. We wanted to be able to do some...

Vin number problems on my Spyder

I have had similar inaccuracies with vehicles before and it has never been a problem. As long as your vin is right, I don't see a problem. Our Spyder is an RTS and they initially had it listed as a Limited but with the correct vin. Gary

    We're Shopping Tomorrow...

We always used a filter at the spigot but we also used what HankD shows below. I guess we were double cautious. Others may have a different opinion.

    We're Shopping Tomorrow...

Bob, something you might want to ask your dealer when you pick it up. I don't know if this is still relevant but when we used to have 5th wheels, we got a pressure reduction attachment to place in line with our fresh water supply hose. Some "camp grounds" provided fresh water that was way too...

    JUST READ THIS

Based solely on personal observation, my wife and I are seeing a lot more Spyders on the road this year than ever. Obviously we don't know why or if they are just traveling through our area but our impression is that they are increasing in number. I know this isn't very scientific. I also...

    ANOTHER REAR TIRE BITES IT

I have to agree with Chupaca, jaherbst and Mike. Measure your tread depth at the triangles shown by Chupaca and find out what the correct depth is. Those in your picture are not the wear bars. Gary

    Winter Storage - Iowa

As has been said, battery tender on and the temps will not be too cold for the Spyder. Used oil contains contaminants and acids that are not good for the internal parts when left sitting in your motor for extended periods of time. Why take a chance by leaving it? Change the oil before storage...

    Forgotten Cars from your youth

Yes, it depended on where they were sold but were the same car. Then there were the Capri II models which were the same as the Mustang models but for some cosmetic differences. Gary

    Forgotten Cars from your youth

Not one of your "main stream" cars. Mopars etc were a dime a dozen. Nice but plentiful. Not exactly from my youth but not common either. Ford Capri V6 Gary

Do you need to talk me off this ledge?

Well, since you asked for opinions. ;) It wouldn't be on my short list. Have you looked at the used car reports on this or other makes and models of cars that you are interested in? Consumer reports on a vehicles' reliability can be worth while. Pretty sure these are not very fuel efficient if...

    Helmet Style

Mine is a Shoei Neotec modular. Wife's is a Schuberth C3 Pro modular. Both of us wear glasses and modular make it easier other wise would likely be full face. Most important I think is getting what fits you best and the best you can afford. Every helmet maker makes them a little different in...

    Riding gear

I think if you read his post again, you will see it was NOT about riding in the rain although he mentions having a bright coloured rain jacket. Just to add "ad nauseum", I agree completely with those that wear armoured textile clothing. And yes it does protect you from the heat/sun. Used to...

    Water in Frunk

Perhaps talking to your dealer about it first might help. When I had the problem with our tub, I spoke to the service manager at my dealership first. I did go to my dealership and show them. They agreed and pre-ordered the new tub so when I brought the Spyder in, they replaced it and I was back...
