• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    TPMS Systems on an RT

I'm don't have the money to invest in a fancy system; however, I'm thinking of buying http://www.ride-on.com/smartcap from the Ride-On folks. A self-calibrating cap that visually lets you know if you're low on air. You can buy enough for the Spyder and trailer. Sure it doesn't have a remote...

    Bought my Spyder yesterday!!

Congrats on your new Spyder. My wife and I were completely new to bikes and that may off to your advantage--no relearning from a 2-wheeler. You're going to find a ton of advice on seats here from Corbin and Ultimate (both can be bought with a backrest). It's a sizable investment but who can put...

    Farkle Fingers!

I recall a while back there was a thread on using gloves with capacitive devices like phone and GPS. I came across these today while look at the night-time riding jacket they sell: http://www.adaptivtechnologies.com/adaptiv_store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=81&products_id=244...

    Aftermarket versus BRP Comfort seat

I'm 6'4" and 230lbs to start this off. When we test rode an RT, we did one with the stock seat and one with the comfort seat from BRP. Like you the comfort seat felt great position wise. My wife and I opted for the comfort seat. We are very new riding, so, like you, we haven't done long trips...

    Cell Phone

Wife has a HTC One V and I have a Galaxy S2 and like it. You're going to hear people claim one or the other is better. From an I.T. standpoint, I like the iPhone because it is a closed system. Android has so much fragmentation and manufacturers love to put their own flavor the Android operating...

Brown RT Seat on Red Spyder

We've got a '12 RT-S that is red with the BRP Comfort Seat in tan. It looks awesome! Brown and red go very well together.

Question for those paralyzed from trauma

I must be a lightweight when it comes to meds :-) I think there is a 150mg dosage but don't quote me on that :sour:

Question for those paralyzed from trauma

I take one pill at night generally around 7 or 8pm. The only real reason for this is because it makes me pretty drowsy; however, after 6-8 hours of sleep I am back to normal drowsy wise but my pain is greatly subsided for pretty much the rest of the day. On occasion I'll take Advil or Alleve but...

Question for those paralyzed from trauma

I had a tumor at C 1-3, biopsy there and a fusion of those three. I've got pretty steady pain in my hands. I talked with my new primary doc two years ago and he suggested I try Gabapentin (non-narcotic). It's really been a godsend for me. I take one pill daily at night. If the pain is...

    AAA, Your Thoughts

So, here's what I found out about AAA for me (at least in Missouri). For Premiere for both my wife and I, it runs about $135 per year. I read somewhere that Premiere covers recreational vehicles; however, when I called them to confirm this it proved not to be true (at least for Missouri). I'd...

    Phone navigation

I was thinking of doing the same thing. My wife recently got an HTC One V from Virgin Mobile. Interestingly enough, it will handle phone calls via Bluetooth to her Teamset Pro headset but navigation directions don't work over Bluetooth. I've dug around in Google Maps and the phone's setting but...

    Fog Light Out

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I wasn't planning on being a jerk with them. I'm a pretty big softie at heart and generally overly nice even at place where I get :barf:service like dining out. Everyone has their master and if BRP is being a stickler then my dealer is bound to them. I'll check...

little lessons learned along the way...

Congrats!!! Missouri is dumb. We have one real location that will do a trike course; however, even if you pass it, you won't get an M with 3 wheel restriction endorsement. The ability to get an endorsement for a 3WC is sitting in the state legislature apparently

    Fog Light Out

Hey all! I've got a '12 RTS with just shy of 600mi. I've noticed that my left fog light bulb (if sitting on bike) is out. I called the dealer saying that it had stopped working between 200-300 miles and I wanted to let them know since I may not go in for my 600mi service until early Spring. The...

    Handicapped Spyder Ryders.....Roll call!

Hi all from St. Louis, Missouri :-) Had a spinal cord tumor at C-1, 2 and 3 when I was 15. After 2 years of chemo and partial paralysis from the original biopsy, I had those three vertebrate fused. Even with a pretty bad gait and messed up right shoulder from the fusion process, my wife and I...

Help with first motorcycle apparel, best places to buy.

Big shout out to leatherup.com. I bought my helmet along with my wife's. We shopped locally for sizing but bought online as their price was far more reasonable. They also provide good sizing charts. We also bought our armored jackets there...

    Super Shark Grip Buddies

Well after a little over two months of healing from my broken wrist, the doc released me to drive again. Of course I didn't care about that. My quick followup was, "What about getting back to my Spyder?!" Thankfully, everything was a go. it appears being plated and held together with screws...

    Going Spyder(less) crazy

4 weeks go I tripped going down the TWO!!! (:cus:) stairs into my garage when my wife and I were leaving for work. As I was sitting up, I notice that the wrist was .5" in the wrong location :( A panicked trip to the ER (thank God my wife was there to help me) and I got the news that I broke the...

    Analog Or Digital Speedometer

Just remember to keep an eye on your speedo so you yourself know what speed you think you were doing. Otherwise, you'll have to take the boys in blue word for it or try it all over again!
