• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Beeping while shifting & pop while using signal

I'm 99% percent sure the turn signal noise is coming through the speakers--less sure for when my gears change. I'll have to have my wife listen to the speakers tomorrow during the further testing. I hate electrical gremlins as they seem like the hardest to trace and solve. :sour:

Beeping while shifting & pop while using signal

Had the strangest thing happen out of the blue today. My wife and I took our 2012 RT-S SE5 with 1993 miles on it out to the Great River Road in Illinois. We were riding for about 3 hours total when on the way home hit a red light. When we took off and shifted into 2nd (28mph or so) there was a...

Congrats! That is fantastic news :ohyea:

    intercom chioces

I love my Scala Rider Teamset Pro. A new version the Q1 came out recently (http://www.cardosystems.com/scala-rider/scala-rider-q1-teamset/1) and allows you to have music and GPS via Bluetooth if you want it. Our previous generation doesn't allow for this and while I didn't need that...

Summer End Clearance on Spyder Accessories & Riding Gear!

Got two great long sleeve shirts for the wife and I just now for the fall. There are some fantastic deals to be had if I had more money to spend :banghead:

For all the tall riders who ride an RT

I'm 6'4" and 230#. I test rode one Spyder with the stock seat and then one with a Comfort Seat at another dealer. It was a night and day type of thing for me. I immediately asked what the deal was with the seat or the bike when the rep told me it had the BRP Comfort Seat. I was sold. Ordered my...

    Thermal event

Holy cow! Glad she is okay and wish the best of luck for insurance and that BRP can determine a cause. I'd assume they would want a dealer to collect the remains for an investigation? Were there any weird signs going on before it went up in flames?

    cruise control system

I love the cruise control for when my hand aches; however, my thumb will not reach the switch to activate it. I dunno if it is due to the pin in my thumb, but it is irritating. I wait for a nice straight stretch and start it with my left hand. Never had a problem with it freaking out and my foot...

License Department Of Public Safty DPS

Wow. That's insane. Here in Missouri the course can get you out of the state police ran skills test but this only applies to two-wheelers that last time I checked. Plus, if you take your skills test on a trike, you get a trike only marking on your license (which makes sense). Apparently they are...

    Scala G9 Problem

I had an issue similar with our Teamset Pro units once. They suddenly just dropped talking mid sentence near a cell phone tower (coincidence probably). We had to get the manual and do the re-sync steps to reconnect them. Since that, we've had no problems. It was very weird.

    4 Wheel 2014

I'm guessing this is about the side-by-side ATV. The dealer I bought my Spyder from in MO said they were illegal to drive on basically any road in MO. Oddly enough he mentioned that some back rural country marked roads were permissible. Maybe it's going to change? I doubt that out in the sticks...

    Take a lesson from Iraq

I got a chance two weeks ago to try out a cooling vest I bought. Just soak it in cold water for a few minutes and put it on. It made a huge difference. Last summer I'd overheat easily thanks to a medical condition, but this kept me noticeably cool for 4 hours. When we stopped for some food, my...

    Youngest Spyder Owner

We bought an RT-S last year. I'm 36 and my wife is 32. We've never been hassled. We specifically bought the RT because we plan on long trips and ride two up all the time. I know personally I didn't like the fit of the RS for my frame. I figure if it is our money, I'll be damned if some idiot is...

dragons tail video from the 2013 owners event, the end has a rocket in as example

I noticed that at about the 15:20 mark. If it were me ryding, there would have to have been a brief intermission for me to change my pants :yikes: That looked like a good hop!

Harley Dealer in Little Rock selling Spyders

We have a Harley dealer in St. Louis metro area (Ted's) that is a Can-Am dealer along with Harley. The sales guy I talked to at the time was a tried and true Harley guy but recommended the (cheaper) Spyder RT over their tri-glide that we also looked at. I found that to be pretty telling.

    UltraGard Half Cover

I would think it would work ok. If anything you might be able to cover more.

    UltraGard Half Cover

Agreed. We didn't put ours on over the antenna and it still worked fine. My wife is going to cut a hole and sew it to reinforce it to go over the antenna.

    UltraGard Half Cover

I learned two things over this holiday weekend: We need rain gear. The missus and I got caught out in a torrential downpour. On the plus side, it was the first time we road in the rain. The Spyder handled phenomenally. Our new cranberry Ultragard half cover worked great! For just shy of $40...
