• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    kuryakyn hitch rack

With the hitch attached to the swing arm it makes for a violent ride for a rack or trailer tongue. I spent a rainy windy evening in Rock Springs Wy. repairing the tongue on my Bushtec trailer caused by the pounding from the hitch.

    Going from Goldwing to Spyder

Don't sell the wing until you have spent a fair amount of time with a Spyder. The spyder is a fine machine and I can't say I totally regret owning it but we were never comfortable on it and after 15k and lots of upgrades it lives in the neighbors garage and we are back on a wing. The handling on...

Front End Side to Side Waggle

With two front wheels on the ground a fair amount of bump steer is to be expected. keep a loose grip and let it dance, It won't go to far. Proper alignment can help but it's not a cure all.

2012 RT Limited - Difficult steering around corners

That's one of the main reasons why I went back to two wheels. I have neck and upper back issues and the steering effort in the twisty bits was painful. I've told prospective buyers with back problems to rent for a weekend to make sure that it is the right choice

    My Spyder replacement

Nice Wing. Mine is an 06 in white. I sold the Spyder to a neighbor so I still get a 3 wheel fix when I want it but leaning in the corners is where it's at for now.

    Newbie Questions - Belt & Air-Cooled

I ride 1.5 miles of gravel every time I ride. The missing belt guard and keeping the speed down will generally keep rocks out. The owners manual will talk about coolant levels and maintenance. The radiators are air cooled.:D

    Tire Balancing

Most tires these days are pretty close and don't really need it. In my shop I use the old fashioned static balance.

RT Front Suspension Upgrades - Which First?

For sure get proper alignment and then I would get a lot more than 1k on it before I spent more money. The bump steer you are experiencing on uneven pavement is the nature of the beast in most cases. play with air pressure and lighten up your grip on the bars.

Hip hurts when I ride my RTL

I swear by Russell seats. I've had back and hip pain on most my bikes until I change seats. The Russell system uses a spring built into the seat that gives great hip and pelvis support. Your bride will love it and it's a whole lot cheaper than another bike. The seat didn't solve all the issues...

What did you tell 'em your tire was for?

The folks at discount tire in Bend Or. Said they don't care as long as they make money. They even warrantied the car tire on my wing. I had to take the wheel off but they mounted the tire and honored their warranty. Bought all three for thr RT from them with no questions.

    Dreaded seat again

Russell Day Long. The best by most anybody's standards. I'm on number seven. You can spend a ton of money on seats but if you buy Russell you will only spend it once.

    Question on ISCI Handbrake

lever The reduced reach lever is not shorter, it has a little different angle to bring it a bit closer to the grip for folks with smaller hands. It still has the same leverage as the standard lever. It's a standard Harley part as is the master cylinder assy. I had no problem braking hard enough...

    Trailer hitch

The hitch itself is a breeze. The wiring takes some time because you need to remove a bunch of plastic and run wires forward for power connections. I do have a hitch and wiring for sale if you need it. It was on a 2015 RTL

    Handbrake on RT - Opinion

Brake It was the first thing I added to my 15. Yes it is spendy but I felt it was worth every penny and I used it all the time. I have lower back issues and not having to lift my leg on every stop was great. To bad the rest of the Spyder experience didn't meet expectations .

Towing a trailer, and forces on the coupler..

Not to beat a dead horse but my trailer is a Bushtec which is arguably one of the best built and the violent ride broke the tongue mounting bolts which are grade 8 bolts. I'm not trying to bash the folks at BRP but I think they took the easy way out with the hitch design. It does work but could...

Towing a trailer, and forces on the coupler..

I hate to disagree with the masses but I did report about hitch problems a few times. I'm no engineer but if a hitch was supposed to be mounted to the suspension you would see other manufacturers doing it. The trailer weight should be part of the suspended load not added to unsprung weight. I...
