• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Winter storage questions

Scotty's points are valuable and important. I am posting to just further emphasize a point. The REAL ENEMY of internal combustion motors is moisture. If you run a motor and don't get it hot enough to evaporate the moisture, you will promote RUST in nasty places. I have seen this happen in...

    F1 EIII Slider arrived today

I installed the EIII slYder this afternoon. It fits perfectly. It took about 5 min to install. Now, I impatiently wait for roads to clear so that I can try it out. ---leo---

    F1 EIII Slider arrived today

Ordered on 11/12, arrived in excellent condition this morning(11/21). As those that have this wind screen know, it is a beautiful piece of work. Now -- if it wasn't 15F, snowing, blowing and icy, I'd love to try it out. I suspect that the install would go better on a warmer day. ---leo---

    Oh MY

I see the picture and raise you one -- it is 20F here with a 15mph breeze. Bippy freezing wx. We have about 6" snow on the ground AND my EIII slider arrived this morning. I think it best to wait for a bit warmer before installing it. ---leo---

When not riding or reading about Spyders...

Very cool hobby, Brian. Before arthritis hit my hands, I was a Classical Guitarist. I have a hand made Spanish Classical guitar and a very early Gibson and they are a joy to play. We all have interesting hobbies and avocations, I'm sure. ---leo---

Want to take a ride on the Hellbender?

A couple of questions??? Watching the video, that trailer appears to track extremely well. Does the trailer act like a sea anchor and make the spYder track better, or does it pull the rear of the spYder on hard fast turns? That video is a great promo for the handling qualities of the spYder...

    Fast..Faster...Fastest - Marcel F1 Windshield

I was told my slYder screen shipped on 13th. I sure am anxious. HOWEVER, snow in the forecast here through Monday. Is that shield smart enough to chase snow away? ---leo---

    leaning a spyder

Whille I admire entrepreneur spirit, I would leave the spYder just as it is now. I like it. The market is awash in "leaner" bikes. ---leo---

    Personal suport needed

I strongly recommend you meet with your pastor and look to your church family for support along with the support you will receive from your rYding family. Surround yourself with loving neighbors, friends, and support groups. God loves you and is able to supply ALL your needs as well as the...

Real test for both Spyder and Thermosuit today

I learned something this morning that I possibly should have considered. Overnight, we had 4" of wet snow. The roads looked wet but no snow or ice. What I soon realized -- PENNDOT had sanded the roads, especially at intersections. Traffic had left a nice wide band of sand and gravel right in the...

Real test for both Spyder and Thermosuit today

My two cold challenges were one at 26F and the other at 20F. The morning with 26F, I had the Thermosuit and sweater and heavy pants under. I was actually a bit warm. So, the morning with 20F I had on light turtleneck shirt and jeans under the Thermosuit. That was a bit cool - so I will now go...

Wife says to me before my 1st ride...

Having sold my 2 wheelers and gone a year with only ATV's in the fun stable, I ordered a spYder. Response from my beautiful, faithful wife of 46 years said, "It's your money, you old fool." After I took her for a very short ride, I said, "How'd you like it?" She said, "I didn't" and has not been...

    BURRRR

So far this Fall, I've been spYdering at 20F an d 26F. Only inconvenience is pulling on the First Gear Thermosuit. With leather insulated gloves and winter boots, the ride is quite comfortable. I'm considering purchase of the slider windshield just to reduce wind effect. ---leo--- (Northwestern PA)

    first of the year

Ah, Sunday morning. It is 20F on the barn thermometer right now. I had hoped to rYde to church, but guess BMW-R'ing will have to do. Not that the cold will stop me -- gotta take all the "priestly" stuff. ---leo---

TATT2R, Are you truly in Salem, NH? I didn't see any minus temps in the lower 48 this AM, even using metric. (Didn't check the Rockies) However, I also wore underware, sox AND a helmet. ---leo---

    first of the year

When I got up this morning, it was 26F and definitely frost on the punkin'. After getting my bowl of oatmeal, suited up and took spYder on the road. The FIRSTGEAR ThermoSuit was excellent. I had on sweat pants and a light sweater and feel I could have had regular pants and a shirt. Only place...
