• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    last rYde for 2008?

It was kinda warm for two days in a row here. Yesterday 50, today 40. That got most of the ice and messy stuff off our driveways and the roads. I took advantage and rolled the spYder out of the cave. (barn) The rYde wasn't too far, but I got the oil temp up and circulated and a good test of the...

    Cops and Spyders

I am retired as chairman of the local regional police force. I took the spYder to the office and all the officers wanted to try it out. The chief disappeared for a half hour with it. We'd have one if the weather weren't so much an obstacle. At least now they recognize me when i'M OUT RyDING...

Great day for 25K- Year in review

I ordered my spYder before finding any of the forums. However, before taking delivery, I found the two main forums and thanks to Lamonster and other early owners on the forums, I had learned how to approach this fantastic machine. I've loved it from the first mile and the affair continues...

    Christmas rYding

    Well that wasn't very smart

    >>put a few miles on the Juice Box<< I've been reading the threads about "juice box" but have no idea what that might be -- enlighten me, please. I keep having a mental pictures of grape or orange juice box. ---leo---

    Well that wasn't very smart

It never got above 21F here today, with roads ice and snow covered. You'd have been a block of ice after a 300 mi. rYde here. I did get out on the 500 Outlander a couple of times for farm chores.(3 layers) ---leo---

    Spyder Withdrawal

Today[Thur] at lunchtime, the rain from yesterday having washed the roads, I took the spYder with the new EIII slider out for a rYde. Even after reading all the testimonials as to the advantages of the EIII design, I was impressed with the performance. I am 6' and have 1" riser bar installed...

    Spyder Withdrawal

Like our Michigan friends, it was 40's here today. --BUT-- there was sand, salt and rain on the roads. I was oh so tempted to go rYde, but better judgement ruled. I really want to check out the F1 EIII slYder. Hopefully, the trip south will come quickly. I could ride around our horse arena, but...

    not a snowmobile

I hope I didn't mislead you. I have NOT purchased the shutters, though I intend to do so. In my conversation with Marcel, he told me shutters are a 5 minute job and not difficult. He also told me that they are very effective in redirecting windstream away from rYder. Let me know how they work...

    not a snowmobile

Ever since I installed my F1 EIII Slider windscreen, it has snowed almost every day. This morning (Sun. 7th) we have moderate snow falling with 20mph wind. The temp is 24F. spYdie will remain in the cave. ---leo---

    how cold is 2 cold,,,,,,,,,

The cold doesn't stop my rYding. I've taken local trips (from our farm to town and back - 22 miles -) in temps in the 20's. I layer under FIRSTGEAR Thermo Suit with goretex insulated boots and leather thermo gloves. I haven't needed electric aided gear. It is snow, ice and salt that keep the...

Glad I got my spyder fix this morning...

Deb, Do you and bjt get the same response from the people at the church that I do? I'm the crazy priest who rides a spYder. :2thumbs: they just shake their heads. ---leo---

Glad I got my spyder fix this morning...

Ever since I put the slider EIII on the spYder, the weather in NWPA has been merciless bad. Today started out at 16F with light snow, by noon it was 33F and raining and tonight it is 31F and freezing rain. The roads have large areas of black ice. Not bad driving the 330Xi Beemer, but definitely...
