• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

Mostly the tread pattern was what I didn't like as well. I had that tire on a couple of Subaru Outbacks and it wore well but didn't hook up all that good, so I opted for the Kumho KH16. With 20,000 miles on a set of Kumho KH16s but in the 155 width I know they work. We are so very limited in 15"...

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

Yes Mike. once we noticed the wear on the inner edges we took it to Caswell Cycle and got it laser aligned, but what we found did not explain the wear pattern. That said, the Spyder then handled incredibly well, could not believe the difference, I thought it worked well beforehand, was surprised...

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

Hell ya, and I just love it that we have a group here that we can share info and ideas with to better understand and appreciate the Spyder. It is after all, a shared passion among all of us.

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

Tires are Mounted! Wow, that was a good one. Put the tires in the sun for a couple hours, one went right on, but of course the other one was still not willing to seat all the way. Well, we left the 50 psi in there and rolled it back out into the sun and left it there. Couple hours later, POP up...

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

The tire was acting like the inside diameter was too small. It would hold pressure, but the I.D. of the tire would not pop all the way up and seat properly onto the rim, despite our repeated and forceful efforts. So the trick of using a ratchet strap like what we do with a wide mower tire to get...

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

We were rotating the tire on the wheel so we had different contact patches to see if that made a difference. Going to put the tires out into the sun for an hour and try again. Did get a response from someone that put these exact tires on two units, had to go up to 55 psi to get one of them to...

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

Brand new rims, brand new tires, lubed it like crazy, tired several times, spun the tire around on the rim, flipped the tire over on the rim, drove us fricking nuts. Didn't know how much pressure we dare throw at it...just plain stumped us. Did not make sense. We had three sets of eyes on it...

Could not get 175/55r15 Kumho KH16 to seat on 15" rim

This was a shocker for me. I have been running Kumho KH16 front tires on the 15" rims but in the 155/60r15 size. Love them, but they are 10mm narrower than the stock 165/55r15 Kenda tires. I really wanted to get the width back. I had always wondered if we could get the 175/55r15 size to fit...

Anyone ever ride the U.P. of MI.?

The U.P. is a long ways from east to west. I do a ton of riding in the western 1/3 of the U.P., so we should ask if you are seeking the best roads to ride or do you want to know about the best scenic stops along the way? I would for sure hit Lake of the Clouds (Porcupine Mountain Wilderness...

    Traction control disable feature

The F3 has a lower center of gravity with the lower seating position, and it also has a higher roll center from the front suspension, so the resulting moment arm is much shorter. Think leverage. This is what makes the F3 so much more stable and less prone to body roll, and thus allows the...

    Spyder vibration

My guess is you are feeling the belt vibration, or harmonic resonance. We can move the speed at which it occurs, but never completely make it go away. I've experienced a number of new units that it is pretty bad on, so I would suggest having the belt tension checked. Many times as the belt...

    2012 Spyder RT-S, which oil ??

Are you trying to save money, or do you want the best protection, or do you want good oil at a good price? In my humble opinion.......you do NOT want an oil that is SM rated, as it has too many friction modifiers and will slip the wet clutch, regardless of what the oil bottle says. You DO want...

I have had very good experience with Ollie's Service in Alex. Been working with them since 2008. They actually have a BRP certified Spyder tech, not all dealers do. He is a long time Ski-Doo, Can Am and Sea Doo tech, not much cycle experience but he knows BRP product and seems to be pretty...

    2008 GS Gauge Didn't Work......

Maybe the real lesson here is if the gauge doesn't work right on an older GS/RS model, start with the "Main Relay 2". And if one has an older GS/RS, you might want to open up the fuse/relay box and see if you have Tyco relays or the newer Omron ones. I guess after this experience I would swap...

    2008 GS Gauge Didn't Work......

Old Battery Load Tests Fine Well, my almost nine year old original battery load tests perfectly fine with minimal drop. :gaah: The reason my gauge didn't light up was a faulty Main Relay 2. I had swapped this relay with the headlight relay early on, but they were both pretty weak to engage so...

    2008 GS Gauge Didn't Work......

Gauge Update Now this is funny. I thought I had found the problem with an old battery, but I clearly am not as smart as I thought. So I walk over and install my new YUASA battery, fully changed, and turn the key only to find the gauge still does not light up. Seriously, I was surprised. OK...

You will adjust quickly, ride it like a sled and it will be natural. You will love the F3, the motor is so awesome! One of my faves is to hit Pine River, go east to Palisade, run the river road up to Grand Rapids, then take MN 38 up to Marcell, and shoot back down to Alex through Remer. Takes...

Some of the best sledding in all of Minnesota...
