• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

does a turbo sound appealing to you?

Agree, I don't see all of that kit shown for only $500. At $3800 that is about $86 per HP! $3800 seems like a lot of money for an add on to a $8,500-$11,500 trike.

tirerack service - can't beat that!

There are several threads on this subject but the short story is that most auto tire installers can mount the fronts and rears and most can balance the fronts if their balancer arbor fits the centerhole on the Spyder's wheel. The rear probably doesn't need to be balanced but you can balance it...

Sierra Cycles in AZ is another one with the $671 price.

2020 RTL - broken saddlebag latch

I don't know yet - part should be here late next week. I will try to remember to post back what is entailed. No dealer south of VA had one in stock and I have had good luck dealing with Sierra Cycles in AZ so I ordered it from them and they will ship it to me here in GA. Each latch (left and...

2020 RTL - broken saddlebag latch

Same here but I don't have a good dealer anywhere close like you. So I ordered the mechanism and will change it myself because, like your experience, my local dealers want me to leave my Spyder with them while they order the part, wait for the part and then schedule the repair (3-4 weeks). For...

2020 RTL - broken saddlebag latch

What did you wind up doing with your latch? Mine just broke at the hinge. Haven't tried to get it open yet, just curious what you did to fix it. Did you have to buy a completely new latch or were you able to just by the plastic lever?

2020 RTL - Anyone think they will ever update the bluetooth to work with other device

FWIW, I had 2 late model BMW motorcycles (2016 and a 2018) that had horrible/antiquated bluetooth systems. Both motorcycles were hi-end $25K+ bikes. My guess is that they won't do anything unless it actually hampers sales. The only thing I use bluetooth on the Spyder is the FM radio: I have...

Top Case options - can a rear trunk be added to a 2021 RT?

Here is Monk's great thread on adding a top case to a 2020+ RT: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?137751-Shad-top-box-install-on-2021-RT-base On my 2020, I opted for a smaller 42 liter topcase (paid $100 or so from Shad direct). I can fit my full face helmet and lots of other...

WTF? Can't find anyone to mount my new Quadtrac tires!

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but the front tire/wheel balance weights will likely need to be placed on the inner part of the wheel (the part opposite the spokes). The shop that balanced mine placed weights on the inner and outer parts of the wheel and the weights on the inner part...

Fault code C006c and C0040 No Brake Lights

Check your brake light switch. Not sure where it is on a 2019 but on my 2020 it is directly under the brake pedal. Mine failed at around 9000 miles. Same symptoms as yours is showing.

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

OK, I was wrong: I can go faster in the twisties with different front tires. Got my new Quatracs installed on the fronts and went for my first long ride (350 miles) and wow what a difference these tires make over the OEM Kendas. Much less effort to turn the bars in tight fast twisties and very...

Any more feedback on Kenda Kanines?

See post #3. My 2 riding buddies (2018 & 2019 Spyders) also have used the OEM Kendas and the Kanines. Both of them got roughly the same mileages as I did and all of our rear tires wore out in the middle. We are all running car tires in the back now.

This is how our Spyder Axle Adjusters work!

Yes, making the caps with ears that fit inside the swingarm secured with set screws would be a lot better. And some way to "fix" the screw to the cap, possibly a shoulder or bushing on the inside - I haven't really given it a lot of thought but there has to be a better way.

This is how our Spyder Axle Adjusters work!

I saw these pictures on the web and I thought I would post them here as clarification for how the axle adjusters work on the Spyder RT. I am a visual kind of person and if I can visualize what I am doing while working on something then I understand what is going on and it is not just trial and...

    Wilber shocks anyone ?

So, with the hydraulic valve adjustment option there is no need for the factory airbag? My base RT does not have the pump and the bag will leak a bit over time so I have to add air on every ride. Going to a new shock like this would be one less thing for me to have to think about. I ride...

WTF? Can't find anyone to mount my new Quadtrac tires!

I found this to be true as well. The issue is the small centerhole on the Spyder wheel. I had Cycle Gear balance mine but one of the weights fell off and I wound up taking them to a high-end tire/wheel store. Their machine was a fairly new model and the arbor was small enough to fit the...

2021 RT Limited BajaRon Sway Bar - DEFINITELY WORTH IT

Heck, don't let him slow you down - no way a Goldwing can keep up with a Spyder in the twisties. :D

Question for the seasoned one-up road warriors. Sway Bars

On my 2020RT it was a big improvement: Straight line stability was greatly improved (I can one hand it on the interstate at 80 mph) and the Spyder was a lot less jittery in the twisties. Worth every penny spent.

Any more feedback on Kenda Kanines?

A motorcycle tire has a round profile so if it wears in the middle it is because it spent most of its life going in a straight line. A car tire or a Spyder tire is a completely different design and it should not wear out in the middle leaving perfectly good tread on the outside parts of the...
