• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 RT limited - new to me bugs

In the 2010/2011 RT shop manual, they talk about an upgraded bushing where the latch closes. The 2010 bushing has a very small thin part and you must be lined up on it real carefully otherwise the thing will shut if you give the frunk a whack shut but won't want to open. The later bushing is...

In 2016, The Evolution Continues: Video contest

That guy who won the F3 probably had the secret words, "NEEDS SELF CANCELLING TURN SIGNALS!" as his turn signals were on most of his initial ride.

Getting some work done tomorrow morning

Anti-swaybar, alignment... OK, they are good things and help but you also have to set up your suspension. If you have any front wallow, consider jacking up the preload on your front shocks and having the right amount of air in your rear shock is helpful. I later bought some Elka shocks and...

    Another Shooting this morning...

Mike, the drafters of our Constitution foresaw a time when the government would become corrupt and the three branches would no longer keep each other in check. This is why the 2nd Amendment was written. It wasn't written to protect hunters but to ensure that an armed population would be the...

    Another Shooting this morning...

I think it is martial law. I think the administration wants to divide the people of this country in order to destroy this country and its values and morals. I think folks who support this country need to be very aware that their vote DOES count and if they set back and let the people who want...

    NEW TIRE VS OLD TIRE

Missus and I are going to Mason to stay at a B&B this weekend and I just didn't have time to find car tire, remove my rear wheel and belt sprocket, take the rear wheel into San Antonio and get it mounted and balanced and then re-install. I haven't done it before and I can't afford to blow a day...

    Emergency brake dilemma

Guessing he has an RT since that is where he posted but the parking brake isn't an emergency brake so hard to be sure. I had to get used to just poking the parking brake rocker button. If you hold it, it will not disengage. OldFTS, you might want to add a signature that tells folks what type...

    600 Mile Service WHAT?

I just copied and uploaded the three pages of maintenance chores which include the initial service and it actually tells you whether to change, replace, check, etc. Why the heck does someone then tell the OP to ask his service dept to print a list off? I am not sure why folks bother to answer...

    600 Mile Service WHAT?

The Service Manual for the 2010/11 Spyder RT isn't clear on which procedures can be performed by owner/dealer.

    4 Weeks - 1,100 Miles...My Impressions

I know that Can-Am has upgraded some things on the RT suspension over the years. Today, how does the 2015 anti-swaybar diameter compare with the BajaRon anti-swaybar diameter? Does the 2015 RT still have the crappy OEM shocks? For a machine that costs so much, I would think development would...

    Won't start

I agree that it sounds like the battery BUT... 1. Battery cell is sulfated and won't take a charge. If you jump, it still won't start. Change battery. 2. Battery discharged from sitting but Will take a charge; jump and run the bike long enough for the battery to recharge. To jump, use...

    Buying a Used 2011 Spyder RT-S

I bought a 2010 Spyder RT earlier this year. The 2010 had some subtle improvements made for the 2011 season. So far, I have had to replace the battery and will be getting a new rear tire today. One thing to consider with a Spyder is that the shops charge a lot to do even routine things and...

Making the decision to ride or not in rain

Key West, like most of Florida is full of real old geezers from New York/New Jersey and such places. They drive crazy and there seem to be many stories in the papers about an 84 year old running over people on the sidewalk. Beyond that, during rainy season, the t-storms hit with depressing...

    Frustrating Service Experience

Bought my used 2010 Spyder from a dealer up in Waco because of price. I will likely do most of the service myself as there no longer is any warranty. I called three dealers today for estimates on a new rear tire. We are going on a trip soon and I don't really have time for a tire session...

Making the decision to ride or not in rain

Ah! When I was a lad... errr sorry, that is a different geezer story. If you just got the Spyder, take the cage! Enjoy your weekend without becoming a human sponge. Never NEVER NEVER ride around the Capital or Baltimore beltways in any vehicle if at all possible. If you have a 12 ton SUV...
