• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Gasoline filter hose

smelled gas and after inspection that hose was very loose and no gas was visible but when I wiggled the hose gas came out. Replaced with worm drive clamps and all is better now! Glad I found this one in time!

    Can you bypass VSS?

You can disable the VSS by removing wheel speed sensors and hanging them up outta the way. You will also want to pull the fuse for the power steering as it will no longer disable at speed. If you are a careful rider I do not see a problem with trying it out. The guy who had a problem was...

    Exhaust Recommendations-no 2 Bros

Love the Leo Vince but it does angle upwards so you want to make sure it will clear the bags, etc..

    Rear rotor hot

Take it for a quick ride and try not to use the brake. Then check it again. If is cool then you just need to stop using the brake! :2thumbs:

    Exhaust Gaskets

Thanks Scotty! Have had the leak for some time now but do have 12K miles. So I guess I will buck up and replace them. Do not think they should need replacement so soon though! I guess that goes for much of BRP's maint. items for the Spyder.

    12,000 miles service price

The $1100 was without oil change, plug change, and valve clearance check. Crazy if you ask me. Dealer said the bleeding of the brake fluid was listed as a 4hr job with 2 techs.

    Exhaust Gaskets

I have an exhaust leak on the front right. I have read post indicating this is a known issue but dealer states it's a wearable item and I must pay to have it replaced. Anyone else have this covered under warranty?

    12,000 miles service price

I got a quote of $1100 for the 12K service. I guess I am going to be doing it myself again. I change my own oil, filters, plugs, etc. anyways. Now I just have to decide what to do and what not to do. I certainly don't see myself replacing clutch and brake fluids after 1 year of ownership...

    New Tire Results - Toyo

Just installed the new Toyo tire since neither of the local dealers were willing. Removing the rim/tire and replacing was fairly simple once you have the correct tools (36MM sockets). First thing I did was weigh the tires side by side. The new Toyo weighed 16.2Lbs and the bald stock weighed...

    Front Tire Feed back

rear tire wears in the middle if you run at higher speeds and/or if you are hard on the throttle "Hammer Down!" Just installed the Toyo and highly recommend.

    6k New front tires

If your tires are wearing on the insides it is NOT from riding aggresive or having too much weight. The Toe is not set correctly and should be fixed.

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

I would rather route mine in the front like you have done but am a bit concerned about the fuel dripping out while riding and being blown back in the exhaust area. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

I'm curious where everyone is routing the vent hose. I have mine routed across the swingarm and coming out next to the belt guard (below rear foot pegs). Looks kinda silly but it does work.

Rear tire worn on one side only!

I just noticed that the tread on the left side of the rear tire is significantly more worn that the right side. I noticed my belt has not been tracking properly either. It seems to move around a lot. I believe this started happening after my dealer installed my new rear about 6k miles ago...

    Changing Rear Tire

I can't find a dealer local that will install and aftermarket rear tire on my Spyder so I'm going to attempt myself. Can anyone in the know post the steps involved in removing the rear tire? I just purchased a 36MM socket and was wondering if there is anything else I need to be aware of? I...

    Finally got the smell

I plugged the purge valve line and I can already smell the gas from the canister. Most are removing the canister and running the line from the tank to the left side of Spyder somewhere across from the exhaust. That is my plan but seeing a picture of where others are routing the hose would be...

Why Spyders Airbox Is The Way It Is.....

I agree for a stock Spyder you may want to leave the airbox alone. However, as you modify the Spyder the airbox becomes too restrictive. The best performance mod. I have added is the race intake. The Spyder now runs cooler, faster, and is much easier to work on without the airbox.
