• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Vredestein tires

Back in the old muscle car days with wide tires we used to put a tire chalk line across the tread and go for a ride and see how the tire chalk wore off to see how flat the tread was contacting the road. We did this to see what air pressures would give us even tread wear across the tire. Did it...

    Trailering an F3S Special - will a 6' x 10' trailer work?

I can barely squeeze my F3S into my 6x6x12 enclosed trailer. It's tight but doable. I've got a 6.5x14 landscape trailer that I can put my F3 and Road King onto. RK at a slight angle at the rear but far enough ahead to get weight over the single axle so tail has less weight for proper towing.

Oil Change 2015 RT-S - should I use ALL the kit oil?

Oil level between min and max lines is normal. Manual states to only add oil if level is below min. line. The amount of oil from min. to max. is 17 US oz. per the shop manual. Doing the 5.6 fill after an oil, filter and draining both drains put my '15 F3S right in the middle of the min. and max...

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

I forgot the year, but it was when local Ski Doo dealer had prototype demos. Followed the parts mgr. on a spirited ride. I was impressed with the handling and knew one would be in the future when 2 wheels got to be too much. Wife is happy with F3S, I'm not too far off for myself depending on the...

Ironic - 2023 line-up reveal while people still wait on 2022's?!?

Same with BRP Ski Doo's. They have shipped some '23 with parts missing already to my local dealer.

Loud first gear change - is the clunk normal?

It's the comforting engagement sound that converted HD trike owners like and are used to.

Beware of ethanol in Loves Truck Stop gas!

I saw a post on BITOG that Sheetz is selling 88 octane which is E15 in PA . Only way I would use E15 is in a flex fuel vehicle, not in anything else and if it meant walking only enough to get to the next station. My boat has a nice large sticker on it that says no E15, it's not there for...

Dealer claimed they couldn't release my Spyder if it failed the sprocket wear test!

Was the fix a new sprocket? If so was it a white sprocket or something different.

Need to know Jacking points using a floor jack?

By the look of your picture if the driveway is flat just rolling it with the brake off may be the easiest way for you to look at the belt instead of jacking the rear. End of the center ''frame'' by the rear tire would be the point to jack the rear tire up.

Leaky brake master cylinder - any 'easy fixes' or ideas?

I got some off Amazon a couple years ago. They are like spring close pins with rubber stoppers on the ends. Different configuration for hoses and banjo fittings. They are called brake line stoppers.

Leaky brake master cylinder - any 'easy fixes' or ideas?

I would bench bleed the new M/C and cap off disconnected line to avoid getting air into the system as much as possible. I have automotive cap off tools to ''seal'' off the hose ends for cars/trucks. Same rules apply as a car with ABS. We do not want air to get into the ABS pump. I'm not sure on...

How many miles do you have on a recall pulley/sprocket?

Wife's '15 F3S, 25k miles just bought used last Nov. She rode it 100 miles back then, sprocket blew out on the road. Dealer installed the white sprocket back then. Got the recall letter, I will follow up in the fall with the recall then. That failure is what got me onto this forum BTW so I...

What's this Extra button next to Ignition Key area for?

On my '15 F3S it turns on/off the fog lights.

Dragging feeling - can anyone tell me what it could be?

No contact temp gun is handy to check rotor temperatures for sticking calipers or brake hose issues. All 3 should be very close. Same issues apply on a Spyder as a cars ABS disc brakes. Same tech just smaller.

Do Can Am Spyders have a Reserve Tank???

Peters' advice also applies to your 4 wheel cages also. Gas lubes and cools the in-tank fuel pump. E doesn't mean enough. Treat the 1/4 mark as empty and you will tremendously lessen any fuel pump issues in any fuel injected vehicle. Repair shops love E lighters, makes for steady work. I've...

The Truth about LED bulbs - Don't Buy LED Bulbs Before Watching This!

Automotive daytime running headlights lights run on 1/2 or reduced power. That's why they say no DRL use as running on low voltage will hurt them. On cycles the headlights are on at full power all the time so they should be fine.

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

When the sprocket failed on my wife's used purchased '15 F3S at 25k miles, the dealer showed me the old sprocket. The ''teeth'' or splines on the old one had rounded right out of it. They were gone. I suspect when they made the sprockets the centers were not heat treated enough to increase...

How many miles do you have on a recall pulley/sprocket?

2015 F3S 25k miles left my wife dead in the water just 100 miles after we purchased it. Since it was a new to us didn't even know if any warnings/sounds were occurring. Dealer fixed for free, white sprocket in now last fall. It happened before I joined this site and the reason I joined this...

The Truth about LED bulbs - Don't Buy LED Bulbs Before Watching This!

I pulled out the LED headlights that were in my used purchased F3 and put in HID's. LED had junk high beams and weak low beams, brand unknown. H4 kit is a little more involved but I'm a gearhead so no issues for me. I've been using HID in my snowmobiles for 10 yrs now and no issues. I've tried...

I always clean bulbs with alcohol, new or used, before putting them back in. Who knows what happened at the bulb plant with a new one.
