• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2021 RTL - Do I need a dealer to sign off the 3000 mile inspection?

Don, The dealer doesn't have to sign off on anything but the initial 3k service is much more than just an oil change. One of the many things the dealer tech is supposed to do at that service is to double check the nuts/bolts to ensure nothing has loosened up. Personally, I always have the...

2020 RTL CRUISE CONTROL ICON LOCATION ON DASH DISPLAY? Mine not showing up

I don't think the cruise control icon lights up until you actually engage the cruise control (set a speed). Try that.

Still Riding? I think I am now done for the season...

We don't really have "winter" where I live in NC so I've always ridden year round. Health issues will keep me from doing that this year but I still hope to get out once in a while on nice days. It's not unusual to get up to 60 in January and upper 40s are normal. Very little snow (last years...

2020 RTL - Should a USB cable be in the frunk as well as glovebox?

In 2020, BRP moved the USB cable from the frunk to the glove box. I used one of Lamonsters kits to extend my USB cable to my handlebars so I could mount my phone. The glove box can be removed. Just pull. Both the USB and 3.5mm plug (i.e. MP3 cable) are relatively short but they were short even...

Are there any good A/mkt RT Backrests?

I completely agree with Mike. I'm on my 4th Utopia backrest (2007 Kawasaki Nomad, 2012 Victory Vision, 2018 RT and my current 2021 RT). Nothing finer.

Finally got to ride one of the newer RT Limited bikes.

You aren't kidding! My bike came to life once I installed it on mine. Heck of a difference even if it didn't actually increase the hp.

I know where a sweet '21 RT is for sale. Just sayin'.

    Recommendations on Laser Alignment

What makes you think you need an alignment? When you ride through a curve, does it feel like the bike can't find a line? I'd say most Spyders are pretty well aligned from the factory and unless something is worn or you (or the previous owner) hit some serious bumps, you may not need it.

2021 RT You trying to get rid of me, Bill? :) I hadn't planned on going anywhere. I just can't ride much anymore.

    Kickstart on older GS/ST? :)

Thanks. Parking brake never came to mind. I guess I always thought EVERY Spyder (GS/ST/Ryker/F3/RT) had an electronic parking brake. BTW, was that a GS or an ST?

    Kickstart on older GS/ST? :)

While I was at the dealer today, I was looking around at some of the bikes sitting waiting for service. I saw this GS/ST (?). Just out of curiousity, what is the lever my arrow points to? Not in the right place for a shifter or foot peg and while I didn't get on my hands and knees to look under...

Bill---I think I just didn't have enough beads.

    Front end vibration

Just got back from the dealer. They dismounted the tires, removed the beads, remounted the tires and balanced everything. Smooth like it should be. They said another couple ounces of beads probably would have taken care of things but I'd rather the tires be balanced the "right" way. Thanks for...

    Front end vibration

I just jacked up the rear of the bike and laid down next to it (not an easy task these days) and slowly spun the rear tire around, first looking for anything caught in the rear sprocket then checking the same on the belt, both tooth side and other. Nothing. I guess the shop will have to figure...

Guess it's time to jack up the rear of the bike to see if I can find a pebble, eh?

    Front end vibration

Not that I doubt you, Mike, but I get a vibration mostly in the handlebars. How would a rear tire issue affect the handlebars? Great idea but it's not limited to one side or another. As noted, I feel it the most in the handlebars. Counteract, as suggested by a few here. I rode down the...

    Front end vibration

Turns out you're spot on, Mike. I ensured all tires were at the proper pressures (16# front/27# rear on the stock Kenda) and took it for a drive. Crazy vibration, especially above about 50mph. Assuming it doesn't rain next Saturday, I'll ride it to the shop (an hour away) hoping they can...

    Front end vibration

Slight update: I had 17.1# in the front tires. I used to run 16# and didn't have any vibrations. This just came to me today (as my brother, Forrest Gump, says, "I'm not a smart man"). I lowered the air pressure to 15.5#. I only got up to 55mph briefly (I was starting to sweat so a short ride)...

    Electronics on handlebars (smartphones)

I've always mounted in between the bars. Never had a problem.
