• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Oil leak question

Hi all, My dealer resolve an il leak issue for me. They said the issue on the RS was a water pump bolt that went into the oil gallery and had not been thread sealed at the factory. They resolved the issue by using something thicker than factory thread sealer. This has worked, the only oil...

    2013 improvements?

I'm sure like many here to read that there will be no 4 banger (yet). I hope this means the BRP fixed a bunch of the gremlins. I'd really love to here that the air box issues are dead to everyones satisfaction and that blow by issue is resolved at factory. Better plugs and wires would be nice...

    Oil

Keep your receipts, there was a post on here about a dealer balking at a warranty repair because the owner was doing their own oil changes.

    2013 improvements?

Surprising, all view and no clue? :dontknow: I've been lucky the issues have not been too numerous or too big (mostly) and have all been assembly issues. I like the existing engine and could really see the value in having Can-Am hammer out the issues that have been reported by many folks...

    2013 improvements?

Hi all, I think the ST and all of the improvements made to the different models in the brakes, options, looks and structure are great (thanks for the intel Lamonster!) Since the new models share the Rotax engine with earlier models is there any information available about...

Considering a Spyder RT---a couple of questions

You may want to get options at time of sale as they can be expensive afterward even if you do the labor yourself. I think the Spyder has better visability by itself. You take up a full space in the lake and the lights seem to get people's attention. You should take the MSF course since you get...

    Spyder RT-S Crash

Ouch:yikes: Hope you get well soon! We are all human and so we make mistakes but I hope the guy in the Jeep apologized for being a fool. :banghead: Heavan forbid but he should be thankful that he did not kill you or himself. Instead of a ryde there could have been a dumptruck...

    BR1 IS IN TROUBLE

Best of luck with the dealer, hope everything works out okay. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken but there is a cast steel elbow that connects the output shaft of the shifter servo to the splined shaft coming out of the transmission. Mine was loose once and I've read that this...

2010 RS-S VSS/DPS Failure caused by burnt fuse?

NancysToy, You must be techno-psychic  Stuck my hand under the rear fender and came out with what was left of the cable for the license plate light. Took the fender off and it looks like it was never on the cable stay under the fender. I'm not sure how to fix it as it looks like a...

No mods, no mas. Other than a Can-Am taller windscreen no mods. I'll look for a bare wire. Y

2010 RS-S VSS/DPS Failure caused by burnt fuse?

Hi all, Had the dreaded VSS/DPS failure error flashing across the marquee. No brake lights, found the brake fuse burnt. So should I assume that's it? What would cause a fuse to burn at 13k miles? On a related note, why is there a 3w fuse in with the spares but no 3w fuse in use? If this is for...

225/50R-15 Kumho Ecsta AST on 2010 RS

Hello all, I'm thinking on going with the 225/50R-15 Kumho Ecsta AST on the big end. From the number of posts it seems to be a popular alternative. What tire pressure are folks running this tire at? Thanx, Y

    "Biker" attitudes... Good and Bad...

RE: "Biker" attitudes I was ryding upstate and decided to stop into O'tooles over in Wurtsboro to talk about HD stuff. They happened to be getting a HOG group together for a 9-11 ride and it was like something out of a movie. As I approached the dealership lot about 50 HD people turned a gawked...

    Curious about new 2013 Spyders

Asked a couple of CanAm dealers about 2013s and they seem to think not much change except for maybe a bigger motor option. What's telling is that they have the 2013 brochures for all of the other CanAm stuff, everything except Spyder of course.

    shifting problem on rs se5

Sometimes the little aluminum or steel arm attaches to the splines of the shifter stub coming out of the transmission can work it self loose and affect the shift. There is an Allen head that can tighten this to the stub and an Allen wrench that fits is in the toolkit. On an SE when it is loose...
