• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2014 Comfort Seat

If she rides with you just go ahead and buy it and tell her you only did it with her comfort level in mind, if she doesn't then I don't know.

    Any reviews on 2014 RS?

Around town I still prefer my 08 GS SM over my ST-S SE. The ST feels a little more planted on the highway, a lot due to the extra weight I think. The only thing I wish my GS had is the Brembo's, they are great.

    Question about Smoothspyder belt tensioner

A spring loaded tensioner has some give to it, but it will still add a little extra tension to your static tension setting. Most 2013's I have checked are coming set around 900 Newtons, which is at the bottom of the 2013 Spec's, which are 1050N+-150 (900-1200N). If one were close to the 1200N...

2011 - Additional Benefit from Exhaust Wrapping

Wrapping the pipes did seem to keep some of the exhaust noise from resonating through the pipes, I also covered everything but the pipes with newspaper and sprayed them with the exhaust wrap spray, seemed to preserve it from loosening or deteriorating, it's been on my 08 for 6 years now and...

    Went ryding today!

I have the Throttlemeister on my 08 GS and love it. I bought another used one for my ST, but the handlebars are solid now and it doesn't fit, yet that is. Yes, I use my left hand to set it, not too bad. I prefer it over the electronic cruise, you can adjust your speed without having to reset it...

    Is this normal??

I don't see a problem there. All that I have noticed seem to run up against the outside edge on the front sprocket. The front sprockets didn't have an inside lip until 2011. Check both sides of the belt, does the outside edge of the belt show any visible wear marks or look different from the...

    STS Aftermarket Exhausts

I couldn't believe it, that was after a few mile wide open blast. The next day I cranked it up and thought "man, my exhaust sure sounds strange today, I looked in there and seen the aluminum inside tube had melted and had tried to push itself out.

    STS Aftermarket Exhausts

Here are the pic's of my melted 2 Bro's P1 powertip from my ST-S. The Cat puts out some serious heat, my next mod is the bypass. I will install an AFR meter at the same time as the bypass to see how the numbers are and to see how much the ECM will eventually compensate, enough I hope.

    belt tensioner

I am all for those who want to tackle making their OWN tensioners and bracket designs. Fortunately for those that have limited mechanical knowledge and equipment or more money than time, there is some help out there for the vibration. As Scotty said, the automotive serpentine tensioners are not...

    Belt Tensioner

I asked the techs that manufacture the tensioner components why some have a whine or why two spyders with same static tension, one may have vibration and the other none. Their response was "There are many steps that go into the process of manufacturing a belt, so there will be much more of a...

    Laser Alignment

Yes, Mike and Kristal are top notch. Somehow, I lost my original Can Am Spyder hat that I had since Dec. 07, when I purchased my GS, and didn't have a clue where I left it. I was quite despondent. I had my alignment done at their shop in Edgewater. Lo and behold a few days later Kristal...

Question about 2014 base ST SE5 model

I find the Throttle Meister manual cruise control on my 08 GS works better for me if there's any traffic around, rather than having to reset it every time you hit the brake, and then it falls on it's face for a moment if you don't have the gas on. My STS has trouble getting it to "set" also...

    SMOOTH SPYDER BELT TENSIONER???

My ST had some moderate vibration between 72-78 as new, it wasn't that bothersome that I would have been concerned or worried about it if I didn't know any different. It still has a hair at 73 I can feel once in a while under acceleration but much better. The belts supposedly stretch some after...

    SMOOTH SPYDER BELT TENSIONER???

The installation is much easier, and it has a built in beltguard, but it doesn't do anything the others don't as far as the vibration is concerned. Feel better soon.

    SMOOTH SPYDER BELT TENSIONER???

Sorry Snoopy, The tensioner is basically a vibration dampener that applies spring loaded tension with an idler pulley against the bottom side of the belt. The top of the belt will become tighter under a load such as going up hill, riding into a stiff headwind or loaded and pulling a trailer...
