• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need advice for a dead battery on my RT

Thanks very much, again, Scotty! I jump started it and she fired right up so I let it idle until up to temp, turned it off, and connected the trickle charger. All is good! And, I'll leave the tender connected. I didn't know it would drain the battery if not plugged in. Someday, I hope I can...

Need advice for a dead battery on my RT

Because pulling the battery out is a bit of a chore, I put my RT away in the fall with a battery tender connected but not plugged into the 110 power as I was going to charge it monthly. It's parked outside under a cover with the plug where I can reach it. After a month or so, I plugged in the...

A funny thing happened on our way home last night...

I had a helicopter fly low over me and flash hello with his landing light a few weeks back. It was early morning in northern Ontario between Wawa and Timmins. Not sure if my headlight was too bright or it was the new hi-viz yellow helmet and vest that stood out in the early morning mist. Kinda...

On our way to Thunder Bay.....

Same here. I just did the Canadian side of Lake Superior going east to Montreal and came back through the US from Sault Ste Marie via MI, WI, MN & ND, and in over 4,200 miles I maybe saw 10 Spyders and 100s of Harley-types.

Bringing my RT to Quebec for a holiday

Thanks Scotty! We got back home this aft after the last leg from North Dakota. Covered a total of 4,212 miles (6,779 km), with the RT never missing a beat in 12 days of ryding! (I've done 15,004 km in total.) Lots of interest everywhere in the Spyder, including the border agents going into the...

Inspirations after 2 weeks on the road

Some of the best motorcycle writings has to be in Peter Egan's book, "Leanings". And with 2 weeks on my current road trip coming tomorrow (and no-one having had to ride the bus), 2 of my favourite quotes from it are: ""I guess its better to bend a valve in Missoula than to lose your mind in...

Bringing my RT to Quebec for a holiday

It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow that I've been on the road and so far I've covered 3,467 miles (5,580 km) in 4 provinces (SK, MB, ON, QC) and 3 states (MI, WI, MN), mostly on secondary highways but from superslab to gravel. We head into ND tomorrow and then back home Sunday. The RT has been flawless...

Bringing my RT to Quebec for a holiday

I've covered just over 3200 km in 4 days and made it to Val d'Or in northeastern Quebec last night. Today, I turned south to Ottawa, and tomorrow I'll get to Montreal. The RT is running great and no issues on the ryde except for some pretty hot weather and, now that I'm in the east, high...

    Anyone going to Spyderfest Magog?

I've covered over 3100 km in 4 days and made it to northern Quebec (Val d'Or) yesterday, and then turned south to Ottawa today. I'll be in Montreal tomorrow and maybe to the Fest on Sunday, but only if I can get away from family commitments... BTW, if anyone is going to Magog from Montreal, I...

Bringing my RT to Quebec for a holiday

Thanks! Had a really good run today -- here's the SPOT tracker log as I go: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=03F3PuTmlbhgeuvlgO27MiJVdaJnz9i51 Really hot, though, for the Great White North, with temps in the mid to upper 30s C, which is in the 90s. Only saw 2 other...

Bringing my RT to Quebec for a holiday

I leave tomorrow on the RT for a 7,000 km return trip to Montreal. Hopefully I will also get to the Spyder Fest in Magog on the Sunday. I'm going solo on the way out and my wife is coming along for the ryde back. :ohyea: I got a hi-viz Schuberth C3 this week that is much lighter than my old...
