• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Things to look for & ask about on a 2014 RT Limited?

Thanks Bruce. I've friend in BC (who lived Chillwack until last year) who's thinking about a Spyder and from what he's shared with me, prices are much lower out there. I've been looking in Ontario and Quebec and they're all higher for a low mileage ride. To avoid the hassle of the mandatory...

Things to look for & ask about on a 2014 RT Limited?

Hi Mike! I sent the owner an email this morning asking about service records, and that's a good idea to have a dealer run the VIN. Thanks!

Things to look for & ask about on a 2014 RT Limited?

Hi, My previous Spyders were a 2008 GS SM5 and then a 2010 RT SE5 that I had until 2013. Both were great rides and I'm thinking hard about getting back onto a Spyder as I'm over 70yo now and my 2-wheel V-Strom isn't doing what I need. From what I've read here, the 1330 engine and the tranny...

Back in the saddle again... any advice on yr/model/issues to avoid?

Thanks -- and yes, there are many more available here than I was used to seeing in the West -- and lots of high-mileage ones so people are using them! There are three lower mileage RTLs near me that I've got my eye on... Something else I'm looking at sooner-than-later is to ride in the...

Back in the saddle again... any advice on yr/model/issues to avoid?

I'd love to ride it home but we've another few months of winter here in the Great White North... but yes, I'm looking wide and far for the right one. Thanks!

Back in the saddle again... any advice on yr/model/issues to avoid?

Good to know about the audio... thanks! I should get some advice from you on good back-road rides since I'm back in the east now and just a bit north of you.

Back in the saddle again... any advice on yr/model/issues to avoid?

Hi, It's been 8 years since my last Spyder and am thinking now's the time to get back on the road. I've had three 2-wheelers since then but have always had a good experience with Spyders, and with winter over in another 3 months or so, cabin fever is making me think about wanting to ride. My...

Your Spyder - What Year, Model, Miles, Issues... ??

My 2010 RT A+C SE5 just passed 29,000 km (18,000 mi) with no issues. Have replaced the rear tire -- which will be due again by season-end -- and the right front tire because of uneven wear. I just replaced the rear shock at the 28,000 km (2-year) servicing. My '08 GS (sold in '11), which I put...

The Value of Wearing Good Gear

I've heard it summed up as "dress for the slide, not for the ride" and, "when, not if you will come off". I was also advised to ride assuming that every other vehicle -- ie cages -- is out there trying to kill you, but that they miss sometimes because they're distracted by talking on a cell...

Saskatoon Ride for Dad on June 15

Good question but I've no idea either. My guess is that because we leave Saskatoon from the WDM which is in the south end, that we'll go out on #16 and return on #5. I checked the email I got after I registered for the ride but there's no one given to contact with questions. Hope to see you --...

    Spring is finally in Saskatchewan!

She started right up after 7+ months of being parked so I took the RT out of hibernation for a quick run today. Only did 42 km but clicked through 28,000 km on the odometer in the process -- not bad for a 2010 RT that I only got in early September of that year -- and having maybe 5 months of...

Hi JD. Sorry for my sarcasm in an earlier reply. It was uncalled for and I apologize. Ride safe! Rod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Throttle and Grip Position @ 55+ mph

I've used something like a "Crampbuster" for the problem you describe. It's like a little paddle that clamps onto the throttle and you can just rest the heel of your hand on it. At first it seems in the way, especially at lower speeds, but once you're used to it being there, it's great. Rod...

    Question??? With all respect.

There were probably similar questions and skeptics among bicyclists when someone first bolted a motor onto one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Where are all the RTs'

Hi, I know what you mean. Last July, I went from Saskatoon to Montreal and back. I saw only 1 other Spyder in total. There's just not that many up here yet. I guess we're just ahead of the curve! ;-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

How many miles have you ridden in one day on an RS?

Did almost 900 km (550 mi) when I had the GS with a stock seat and 1" riser. It wasn't bad, but am much happier on long hauls with the RT. YMMV, Rod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
