• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Riding Apps

As an alternate to Google Maps, I use https://tripplanner.honda.com/#/ (Honda Trip Planner). Google Maps used to be incredible for exporting to GPS, but they've done some things like limiting that functionality as well as number of waypoints etc. Honda Trip Planner is very easy to use, allows...

    Driver backrest brackets

I put a Utopia on my BRP comfort RT Seat. Works very well, and easy install. No complaints, solid, and reasonably priced.

    Headlight casings...Switchable??

A quick look comparing North America Chrome parts between 2015 and 2018 seems to indicate the parts are interchangeable (eg same part number). If the chrome is interchangeable, the black should be. But not cheap

    Handbrake - Re-visted

Easy Rider, do you mean the spring below? If so, they NO LONGER use that spring....that may be why I do not believe mine is ridiculously hard. It is not as easy as some high end touring bikes ( BMW 1600 GTL etc), but I can pull mine comfortably. Very easy pull at the open position. If you go...

Do we like modular helmets or not???

On the glasses, it is typically easier to flip a modular chin bar up, put on glasses, then move bar down/up as needed. Makes putting glasses on similar to no hemet at all. On noise.....it REALLY depends on the helmet. Modulars will have more noise, but if you get a high end one it is not...

Dave, Assume the Gel pad will fit a comfort seat as well? Thanks

    WTF a bad accident

Wow, That does not even make sense. Opens your eyes when you see accidents out there. Saw a Goldwing Trike that had just been cut off/run over by an 18 wheeler. Only way I knew what it was was from one small piece of fiberglass. No matter how careful you ride, there is an idiot out there...

Thanks, I looked through my 18 manual and did not see it.......but do recall seeing the option when I first got the bike. Appreciate the assist.

    Sygic Maps any good?

Thanks, Did make sure it was on. Also played with just the app last night......sound from it is intermittent, works sometimes, sometimes not. Have some more playing to do, hopefully I can figure it out. I just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S8+ to an S10+, and the app has been acting up since...

    Sygic Maps any good?

I recently got my BRP Connect upgraded to 13.2 (probably what pushed them to finally release 20.8......), and have Sygic running reliably. That said, I am not getting voice direction through helmet or speakers. It does mute the FM Radio (through speakers of course), but just dead air. Any...

    Handbrake - Re-visted

I Just put an ISCI Handbrake on my 2018 Spyder RT, and just wanted to provide my thoughts of my purchase. To summarize though, I absolutely LOVE it, and feel much more comfortable with it......coming from a 2 wheel background of 40 years. I understand all the argument about "not needed, etc"...

Pulling Codes on a 2018 Spyder RT Limited (w/ new cluster)

I have a 2018 RT Limited with the new cluster, and just had a Check Engine Light come on with about 205 miles on the bike. Does anyone have the sequence to pull the codes on the new cluster? I tried the shut off , let sit, and restart approach. I then tried the approach with the mode button...

Thanks. Anxious to hear about updates, and fingers crossed about bluetooth implementation for FM and Aux! Please let us know when you have a chance.

2018 RT Limited Trim Dark or Chrome price difference?

Yes. The dark is significantly cheaper. If you are looking for an 18, there seem to be more darks available than chrome, for 19s both should be available. You can get a good deal on a 2018 Limited if you are willing to go after a limited color choice (In tampa, grey mostly, some whites)...

    20.3 new software update

Someone posted a Link to a Sean Smoak video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrI4J9NEufo) where at about 2:15 he mentions a Service bulletin for 2019s that "some may have been delivered with 2018 software". I know when I had mine updated, I was told they put 20.3 on my 18, but when I checked it...

    20.3 new software update

By "true bluetooth", I am referring to Aux in and FM to a headset......similar to what Honda, BMW, and others have been doing for years. As is, it is not really clear why to bluetooth through the bike......I can tie my phone direct to the headset and get same functionality. Only nuance could...

    20.3 new software update

I just had mine done a little over a week ago, and at that time 13.2 was the latest version. I expressly asked that they look for version 20.3, and while he saw reference to it (not sure what that means), he did not have access to download. The fact that 2019s are being delivered with 13.2...

bead seat or padded seat for RT

Dave, Do you have a gel kit for the BRP comfort seat as well? I recently put one one, and while the seat position is better, it is still not as comfortable as my old Goldwing...... Thanks

Run power/mp3 cable from trunk to handlebars and mount phone?

I understand the glove box gets way too hot. I have a 2018 and have been monitoring the last couple of months, and it does not seem too bad, but it is winter. Interesting to hear people's thoughts. You want to do exactly what I am considering.
