• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    annoying beeping when parking

My 2014 RT-s will beep when the retained power finally shuts down. I don't think there is any real reason for it. It just does it. It is also easy to not notice this if you are distracted by any other activity. Anything.

what screen works best to stop wind buffeting

I have the vented Spyder windshield on my 2014 RT-S. I had it on my 2012 RT-L also. It works well no both.

    Bizarre Issue

I have had a similar issue. However, mine tends to be associated more often with trying to start the bike using the horn button.

    Reading the owners manual

The great thing about this approach is that your answer is potentially a useless or dangerous collection of "internet wisdom". Another case where you really need to have some idea what the real answer should be before you put any credence in the answers you receive. This holds especially true...

    MAGIC MIRRORS

I think these mirror mounts look like a nice solution to the problem of mirror removal. I was wondering however, does anyone have any hard data that shows that these really strong magnets will not cause any issues with the gauges, displays, computers, etc ? Fairly mild magnets can cause some...

Will my 2012 Ultimate Seat Swap onto my new 2016 RT?

I did this when I traded my 2012 for my 2014. No problem.

New leftover SE6 slipping - i only made it 34 miles

Be careful with statements like this. I have had two RTs and neither has been out of alignment. I have four friends with RTs and with one exception (self inflicted) none have had alignment issues. I know there was a time when many were screwed up but, probably not "all".

    iMotorsports Quotes?

I did not intend to suggest that Motorsports not a good dealer or less than totally dedicated to being a good all round sales and service facility. My point is that the local dealers need to be dedicated to being a real dealer with good sales and service. And, if you don't support your local...

    iMotorsports Quotes?

Go to a dealer where you can see it and touch it. The people you are dealing with probably don't even have the bike. Also, service is much more important that a few bucks on purchase price. Depending on your specific position on the subject, are they stealing business from a real dealer that...

    Advice on cleaning

Dishwashing detergent is a huge no-no on clear coat finishes. It removes the oils from the finish and can make them cloudy or dull in just a few washes. (Note: mat finishes require something like Dawn to restore the dull finish)

    Let's Talk Test Rides!

You will have to trust them to be honest but, ask them about factory training for their techs. Do they have the specialized equipment to maintain the bikes. Do they have inventory or just one or two bikes so they can be called a dealer. Also, in my case, my dealer has a lot of other BRP...

    Let's Talk Test Rides!

    1) It had to be comfortable for my wife as passenger and me as rider. (2012 RT-L) 2) My dealer let us ride their demo as much as we wanted. In about 10 miles, we had decided. 3) One ride was enough. 4) Not sure of discounts but, they gave me a lot of money for my trade (2009 Goldwing with lots...

    Shifting into first gear

This type of "clunk" is normal when going from natural to first or reverse. When it is already in gear, the innards don't rotate freely. As a result, most shifts from first to reverse or reverse to first are just about silent. Again, this is normal for almost all wet clutch bikes.

    Shifting into first gear

All wet clutches do this. The degree of "clunk" depends on a number of things but, it is normal. My 2012 would let me roll it a little bit to minimize the clunk. My 2014 doesn't allow this. I hate it also but, it is the way they are.

The 10 Most Reliable Motorcycle Companies

I agree that the development of the BRP products may not be the best but, Harleys are every bit as bad. They have problems that date back decades. Harley has made changes almost every year and in many cases, still doesn't have them resolved. In spite of that and for reasons I don't pretend to...

The 10 Most Reliable Motorcycle Companies

I am on my second Spyder RT. Both were in the shop for some kind of a design deficiency and not anything that had to do with workmanship or parts failure. My Harley was far worse due the the fact that they would knowingly lie about issues instead of manning up and admitting their problems. They...

    BRP Website

I have not been on the BRP Spyder website for a while and was really impressed with how unfriendly it has become. If BRP is depending on this website to generate interest and help with sales I think they are in trouble. I never was able to get the Spyder section to work properly and the parts...
