• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rear drive belt

Yeah over 100,000 kms on my Victory belt, the last 50,000 with a central stone hole, if damage is central at cool but if it's on the edge you're on borrowed time. I bought a spare a year ago just in case. Engined down at the moment for gearbox work and fitting big bore forged pistons and S&S...

Well that's great news as I'm racking up lots of kays on this thing! Thanks for the update. So oil and engine filter is extended, but trans filter comes back from 20,000 kms to 7500 too hey. That's okay I can cop that. Premium Aussie Penrite Full Synthetic 5-40 MC ain't cheap but it's full JASO...

Valvoline™ 4-Stroke Motorcycle Full Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil

but its 10-40 and the manual specifies 5-40. also JASO MA can be split into JASO MA 1 and JASO MA 2, now one and two both cover two different areas whereas JASO MA without numbers actually cover both parameters of the one and two combined. So it would seem the plain JASO MA covers all the...

Tire recommendations Spyder RT Ltd 2014 REAR - S Drive vs. Toyo Proxies?

Running car tyres on this 2010 RS , using 18 PSI front at the moment ,and 28 in the rear which I now think is too much. Racing against a HD V-Rod the other night the back just smoked up and let the V-Rod get a half bike length on me which I couldnt pull back. I'm guessing dropping to 21 PSI...

    Concerns as a private seller

Unless they know the intricacies of riding a Spyder then they are at a great risk of crashing! Holding a motorcycle licence is about as much relevant as holding a car licence when it comes to riding a Spyder. Unless they ride up on another Spyder how the heck do you know if theyre gonna be...

    A wild ride!

Over a month now and still got a sore left wrist from where I landed on it. Tommos arms still in a cast. I really got the hang of riding this thing now. Dunno if Tommo will get the hang of riding it though. General consensus from his friends is he be safer selling it on and driving his car...

used to it now after racking up over a thousand kilometers, steadily increasing my limits and pushing them. Had an interesting ride in the rain during the week feeling it out as to how hard I could push it, kept expecting the 'nanny' to intervene but she didn't. even to the point of controlled...

    IS This OIL ok

JASO MA1 and JASO MA2 both cover different parameters for the wet clutch. Plain JASO MA without a number after covers the same parameters as both 1 and 2 combined, plus more. I only use JASO MA without a number as that's what's recommended by the makers. Just had this debate with my Penrite...

How many miles can you ride when gas light comes on RT model?

I'm getting 10 kpl Light comes on at 140 kms and it takes 14 litres. Supposed to hold 25 litres so should have 11 litres up my sleeve. That's another 110 kms. Not game to try it out but,,, maybe withbackup juice..

Thanks for the reply encouragement and caution. Just stopped for a pie and a water at Uki pub and with my new riding parameters I'm having a ball! You're right on all counts and now my limits have dropped I'm enjoying the ride. Moved my taped line to 3500 and I find with my new freedom I'm...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

Yeah heavy on fuel and 2 stroke oil but big on excitement! Was a long time ago, owned both the RD350 air cooled as well as an old XS650 twin, world's apart. Didn't really own it long enough to rebuild it but throwing rings in an elderly 2-stroke is a walk in the park:-) After posting elsewhere...

Ok so 3500 is the danger threshold. I was mislead by the sticky. I actually posted in the sticky but got no reaction. Posting in here got the answers I'm needing. I'm off into the hills again today, have a trip a bit over 100 miles to do, so I'll take the Spyder and reposition my warning tape...

It's the info in the do's and don't sticky section at the start of the forum. Keeping it above 4500rpm. So I've marked my tach at 5000 for reference. It sounds like it's revving it's :#+#'s off at those revs and it's twitchy to Co ordinate the revs and cornering in tight stuff. How can you guys...
