• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RS Gel seat pad

According to an article found on the longeride website, the Freedom Air Cushion is 75% more effective then a stock seat versus the Airhawk, which is only 25% more effective. I was going to purchase an Airhawk until I found this thread and read about the Freedom Air cushion. I found one...

    What do you think?

I just rode my 2011 RT-S SE to Durango, CO and back towing a trailer and encountered ZERO problems (over 2400 miles). The Spyder ran like a top and I could not be a happier owner.:yes:

    Elka shocks

I installed the Stage 2's on my RT last weekend and like Sam says, it feels like it turns on a rail now. I got the stage 2's because I enjoy taking a 'spirited' ride around the twisties every now and then.

ANY ADVICE RIDING HOT WEATHER FIRST TIME

Check the oil and water levels after the first 200 miles, or so. After that, depending on whether you need to add oil or water, you may need to check again at the same interval, otherwise check again after 500-600 miles. Drink PLENTY of water - I cannot stress this enough! I carried a 3...

Need some help in making a decision.

I went from an '09 GS Manual transmission to an '11 RT-S SE last year and haven't regretted a single second of that decision. There are some differences that you should be aware of: Manual vs Semi-Auto - Neither has more or less control than the other, nor is there any power loss with the...

    Durango and Spyder reliability.

I travelled over 2400 miles towing a trailer and averaged anywhere from 20MPG to 36MPG - and everywhere in-between - in hot and windy conditions. Libby ran perfectly, with the exception of running out of gas about 100 miles from home...but that was her owner's fault :opps:.

Post here if you have over 5000 miles, not kilometers on your Spyder

Libby hit 5,000 miles on the way to Durango on June 18th. She now has over 6,700 miles. Let the good times continue to roll!

Justin, you can still catch Hwy 36 from I-5 at Red Bluff. I am thinking that I might take that route this year instead of going thru Clearlake. Enjoy the ride and see you there! -Anita

    Heat in the Seat.....Ouch!

I have an Alaska Leather buttpad (aka sheepskin) and it works great! I never have to worry about hot buns and it removes quickly with the clips on each side. http://www.alaskaleatheronline.com/servlet/the-7/Sheepskin-Motorcycle-Seat-Cover%2C/Detail Otherwise, if you're looking for a real...

    I don't get it.

:agree: I don't get how everyone is so dumbfounded by the heat. Not to be rude, but those who complain must not have ever ridden a 2-wheeler. All engines get hot, the heat has to go somewhere, and you're essentially riding on top of a semi-exposed engine. I've chimed in on another post about...

Hey Harry, you are very welcome! Of course, a lot of what I learned came from Scotty (NancysToy) and lots of emailing back and forth - so I gotta give credit where credit is due. This is a great forum with lots of wonderful folks ready to help out when you need it. :firstplace: Have a great...
