• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any one with Order Delays at Kewl Metal

I found the RS highway pegs to be of bad design. You have a single bolt trying to hold it in place...if you put a decent amount of pressure on it, it will roll. A far better design would've been to have 2 bolts along the bracket...this way, there could be no rotation. I tried various ways to...

How fast can a spyder go...

Your point is the most valid of them all...running it up to whatever speed for a few seconds means nothing compared to the ability to hit it fast from 65 to maybe 85 to get around someone quickly. The bike is plenty fast for what it is...even 0-60 is faster than most any car on the road...out...

    Can am Spyder RS handbrake

Too bad ISCI doesn't make home visits...I never thought I'd want a handbrake, but it's kinda cool on the highway to sit back and relax...the handbrake would go a long way to help with this...

Argh! Looks like I'm going to need a security system installed.

Use industrial strength velcro...it works just fine...far better than the breaking rubber pieces. I used velcro until I got rid of the cowl all together when I got the comfort seat...

How fast can a spyder go...

Actually, in the fictional world of Spyder bragging rights, this is not true. Silver reflects the sun's light, but that has nothing to do with mass or speed. In fact, silver has been known to accumulate far more dirt and dust particles, thus weighing down the bike and slowing it considerably...

How fast can a spyder go...

:hun: It took 10 seconds to go from 120 to 121? The Spyder is obviously not built for serious speed...I know people who have gone over 180mph on their busas and the like...now, that's speed.

They will continue to break as they are a faulty design. I don't have the cowl anymore, but something as simple as velcro (industrial strength) will work...you have enough downward pressure on the cowl when you're riding...

RS vs RT, a personal comparison

Bob, I think they both do just fine in wet weather...I was on mine going over the Bay Bridge during a lightning storm 2 years ago...tons of cars on the side of the road waiting it out...and me on the Spyder just cruising on by... My wife thought I was nuts but I told her no cops were going to...

RS vs RT, a personal comparison

With the RS, it might have been your shocks....with the RT shocks on the RS, no speed feels uncomfortable...I didn't like the stock shocks as I felt too much roll with tight turns...now I have no such issue.

RS vs RT, a personal comparison

They are definitely different rides and that is a good thing. The RS crowd will tend to ride in a more spirited fashion while the RTers own the road when it comes to the long haul rides. I have a 2008 GS and I've loaded it up with goodies as well...it serves my function as I doubt I'll be...

I was gonna stir the GPS pot, but then it disappeared, so here's a new pot to stir

gotcha...interesting...I've never locked out an arm when in a turn....prefer to keep everything tight as this allows me to better control my body on tight turns. I've had the luxury of riding with guys who always tease me about the inability of a Spyder to keep up with their magnas, harleys...

    RT Shocks on RS

If you don't push it too hard, you can drop the setting back to two...the higher the number, the tighter the bike in turns, true....but the stiffer the ride overall...

    Anybody riding Rolling Thunder?

Get there are early as you can...the lots fill based on the time you get there...if you get there late, you'll sit until 2pm....it's not fun... If you get there really early and are one of the first lots out, you'll have a great time...either way, you'll meet tons of people.

    RT Shocks on RS

I have the RT shocks on mine...no need to go to setting 5...I am on 4...I'm a very fit and strong 6'1", 225 lbs.....if you can control the bike well to begin with, you don't want the shocks too tight as the ride will become less comfortable...

I was gonna stir the GPS pot, but then it disappeared, so here's a new pot to stir

Just a quick question about your photo there...it is observed that the left front tire is off the ground. If you were turning to the left, you under-steered and the centripetal forces brought the bike back up and the tire off the ground. It is desired to keep all the tires on the ground. If...

    Anybody riding Rolling Thunder?

I live in MD...have gone a couple of times...one time rode in the parade, the other parked along the river and walked around...by far, the better year was the second one...standing around in the parking lots for hours on end in the heat is not much fun. Unless you're in the first group, most...

I own property in Myrtle Beach and used to go there a good bit...most of Myrtle Beach is not actually on the beach and it's not too windy down there...there are also no sand storms. I can't recall ever seeing enough sand on the roads down there to be a hazard...at least not for a Spyder...
