• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Flipped RS

Last I checked, there aren't any stop signs on the beach! The roads are not covered in sand down there....

    Flipped RS

One thing is for sure...you can't flip the Spyder going in a straight line at 35mph...however, if you jerk the handlebars quickly....

    Flipped RS

Bob...yeah, if you think about how many times you've been loose on steering or hitting a shaper than anticipated turn, etc....it's really hard to get this bike to misbehave. However, if you can deceive the nanny, then anything is possible. I'd say 40mph with a fast brake and hard turn might...

    Damn-Cool Helmets

I can't believe any moron would do that...it's like covering the license plate...that DOT has to be showing at all times and everyone on a bike should know that...800 bucks lost...wow!

    Flipped RS

I don't believe this...more likely he was going to fast, slammed the brakes, and spun the handlebar sharply...you can flip a bike easily if you're going fast enough...the nanny has no way to catch up...

I was gonna stir the GPS pot, but then it disappeared, so here's a new pot to stir

That's a funny joke when you say you look at the GPS when you're going around twisties to see what lies ahead...I was LOL when I saw that!

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

When it comes to cornering, the forces applied by the rider are based on the centripetal/centrifugal association. The movement has to be similar no matter what the size of the rider is. It's the forces that determine the necessary lean/tuck to keep the bike from waffling and perhaps lifting a...

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

90 degrees at 40mph...no way...try about 15-20mph...any faster and you won't make the turn... have one up my way if you want to slam into the bottom-side of a bridge...yikes!!

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

True and false with that idea. If you gave Tiger Woods (at his best) crappy clubs, but ones that were a soft graphite, he would not win...he'd still need a stiff shaft club. With the Spyder, the shocks make a big difference. I was going to get the sway bar, but some here told me the change...

It will likely be quite heavier...not so sure it will be faster. As far as the comments about it being silent, I don't like that idea at all...being loud (but not obnoxious) is a good thing on a bike...

    Extended Warranty second thoughts?

Great points Seth...I'm with ya...best to have a warranty and never use it...if you have to use it all the time, you'll likely be in big trouble when it runs out and you have problems.

    Extended Warranty second thoughts?

I don't think a 20% take by the dealer is unreasonable. I'm sure the dealer made money on selling you the bike as well. Dealers have to make money to stay around..this is fine. I think you got a great deal for a 6 year warranty on top of the 2 year one that it comes with. Your bike is...

The vast majority of people want a vehicle they are purchasing to be under a factory warranty of some kind. This is true with anything on the road. It's for peace of mind.

I have a 2008 GS with the BEST warranty...interesting question...what happens when that runs out? Is there any way to get another warranty? As far as buying a new bike..no way..I barely get to ride the one I have now...it's basically new with only about 6000 miles on it...
