• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Spyderlover looking for advice

Additional answer to a question with a question... To expand on the first question above, in 2014, BRP introduced a new, larger engine to their models and if I can be so bold as to distill a point of view, the *general* opinion is that the 1330 (2014+) is an improvement from an overall...

    what phone

What app are you trying to download/for what? Since you've raised some points in other threads about BRP Connect, I'm assuming that's the intent -- but we all know what assuming does...: 1) Here's the link to the BRP Connect page in the Google Play store...

    For you BRP

Agree with you that the glove box sure makes more sense as a destination to me; on the RT it's at least in the top case, slightly more logical than the frunk. I wonder if the thinking was to make sure the device (phone, mp3 player, whatever) wasn't where you'd be tempted to fumble with it while...

Help with choosing the proper spring

Don't know about springs, but FWIW... ...hopefully the folks at Coyote Powersports in Boerne are on your list of dealers to check out when you buy. Rocky, the lead service tech, is a straight shooter and really knows Spyders; you might run your query by him for a safe/by the book answer as you...

    5 Must Have Motorcycles Accessories

After seeing the features/technology and the look of the Crosshelmet, I was ready to buy. Love the built-in Bluetooth integration, the front & rear facing cameras, and the heads-up display concept. After seeing the price (US$1,599), I think I'll wait until this feature set makes it into the...

    Tried FOBO...didn't like it

I gather you were using it with the lock nut? Based on the above, I assume you installed it with the lock nuts; did you consider doing without? (I opted to go without, and so basically it's just a larger/more expensive valve cap to remove when adding air.) Everyone's mileage varies.

RAM mount suggestions for a new F3-T owner

Hybrid approach I went with Lamonster's smaller plate (the lower two bolts of the steering wheel) with the RAM ball in the middle, connecting it to the standard RAM collar/sleeve connected to an Arkon adapter (RAM ball on one end, 17mm ball on the other) connected to a Techmount TechGripper. I...

    Fantastic News

Congratulations... and a confession Reading Darren's message, I'll confess that for a couple of brief seconds, I actually pondered the question, "Hmmm... I wonder if they change the Spyder for driving on the left hand side of the road?" :opps:

Sena 20s powering off while intercom engaged

20s power-offs update I did hear back from Sena on my service request, and the recommendation was to do a factory reset followed by a fault reset. Because (a) I'm kind of reluctant to do tasks that are the equivalent of just asking you to reboot a computer because no one can think of a real...

Texas Spyders in the Hills rally Oct. 18-20, 2018

Thanks! Registered and reserved a room. Looking forward to it. Was actually down in Boerne for a ryde today and had a blast.

    Demo ride,have a couple questions.

Welcome, and it sounds like your initial experience was much like my own -- just couldn't stop smiling. (And hitting the wrong buttons, too...) 1. Most agree that it needs a better anti-sway bar, and if you search for "sway" on the forums here, you'll see any number of posts on the subject. One...

$90 Smartphone App? Wow. Must be pretty awesome software...:yikes:

FOBO Users: What low/high range do you use?

FOBO high/low range? I'm bumping this because I'd love to get more intelligent input than my own on this. I've got FOBO set up on our RT, and set the target pressure on all three tires. I set the alarm pressure (for high or low) at 2psi in either direction. That appears to be too narrow; the...

    New spyder owner with questions

Cover recommendations I'll echo my congratulations on your new-to-you Spyder; hopefully you'll have half as much fun with it as we have already with ours (new to Spydering and motorcycling just a few months ago). The cover was the first thing we added to ours. If you search covers in the...

The phone... has left the automobile...

If you're in the market for a smartphone case, I can now give you an unqualified recommendation for the Spigen Tough Armor line (not that anyone was waiting on pins and needles for such a recommendation). To explain... While working on the Spyder the other night, I took my iPhone out of my...

    Defeated by the steering bolts

Thanks to all for their suggestions You'd think I'd have learned the lesson by now, that when a job seems too hard to do or isn't getting done right, you don't have the right tools. A quick trip to the hardware store for 7mm and 8mm hex bolt sockets later, I can report success in this simple...

    Defeated by the steering bolts

Well, one of them, to be specific. I'm pulling them out to install the Lamonster RAM mount (the two-bolt version) on my RT; took a lot of sweat, but I got one of 'em out. The other one is resisting my charms, and I'm fearful I'm getting close to fouling up the hex head the way I'm flailing. I...

    Hot weather overpants

Searching the archives, it looks like it's been about 3 years since the most recent major "what do you wear in the summer?" thread, and I wanted to get more specific advice, if possible. I'm in central Texas, so it's about to get super warm for the next five months, and not usually a dry heat...

    Motorcycles don't wave back.

Waving Just curious, what finger(s) are you using when you wave, Marty? :-) I'm like the rest -- I wave, and about 2/3s or 3/4s do likewise. I don't give it another thought if they don't wave back.

My first thought of my new 2018 RT Limited

Sorry to hear about the digital difficulties... ... that's got to be a pain. (Thanks for making me feel a bit better about going for the 2017 instead of the 2018, though.. :opps:) Hopefully they'll get the bugs squashed quickly.
