• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Low Speed / RPM Miss?

It's may be the MAPS sensor, when it failed it did the same thing. Hard to keep running at idle, Hard time pulling out and would run fine after 3,700 rpms. The tech found it using there computer with the BRP software. Mike

    ELKA shock review.

I installed a ELKA rear shock on my 2011 RS-S SE5. Now that I have about 1,000 miles on it. It's a totally different design. The is inverted shock (upside down) and has a spring preload adjustment and rebound adjustment. They have a machine that tests the shock and the operator can now adjust...

    Blue Ridge Georgia

Stopped at Joe's today. We had to wait for about 20 min. But it was worth it. I had the pulled pork. It was nice a tender and the sauces were all tasty and fresh. Will go back again. Mike

    Sachs rear shock an upgrade?

I replaced by rear shock on my 2011 RS-S SE5 with an Elka. They make it to fix your style of riding and you can fine tune it, with mine I can fine tune the spring rate and dampening rate. It handles much, much nicer now. The BRP shock is a sub-standard shock, my rear only lasted 17,000 miles...

    Moisture in speedometer

It's a common problem. It mostly comes from washing the Spyders. The lens is part # 415129349 cost $16.99 and the gauge cluster(includes the lens) Part# 710004111 cost $839.99. I replaced my lens on my 2011 RS-S SE5 and waited 2 weeks for the lens. I repaired replace my own lens because I didn't...

    Wheel cleaner?

I jack mine up and use a soft brush and wash and wax. To clean the rear tire and rim I put it 1st gear to spin the rim and tire . Then I use the brush to do the spokes and hose it off. I do the same the front and turn the wheel by hand. I clean the tread also. When it dries I polish the rims and...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

I have a 2011 RS-S SE5. The evap system works the same on pre 2013. The charcoal canister can get raw gas into it and that is what causes the gas smell and some of the fires. Mine is now fire proofed, I have no gas smell or raw gas in the charcoal canister. I have taken the vent hose made it...

    DEER WHISTLES

They work! My whole life I lived near deer and never hit one. The deer whistles will help you see the deer at night. The deer hear the sound and will look at you and the headlights reflect off the eyes of the deer, the same with sun light during the day. When you see them you can avoid them...

Easy fix! Go to from you house to Westminster, S.C. turn right, go to Walhalla, S.C., then to Landrum, S.C. This is about 125 miles and about 2.9 hrs. No shock for my Spyder as of today. Mike

    Destination Blue Ridge May 22 - 23

Hoping to make it. It all depends if I get my new rear shock. I bought a Elka shock it took 5 weeks to get it from Elka and it was the wrong shock, the old shock is broken and instead of putting the poorly made BRP shock and buying a heave duty spring compressor at $200.00+. Last week the...

    spyder acting up tonight

I had the same problem and SPYD3R had the same problem. It was the shifter switch on the left side of the handle bars that you use to up shift and down shift. The unit cost around $165.00 and easy to install. My Spyder is a 2011 RS-S SE5 and Dan's(aka SPYD3R) Spyder is a 2009 RS SE5, and other...

    Wiring damage advice needed

I would ask for a new Spyder the same year(or newer), model, color, and warranty. Make sure you get a list of all the parts that they replaced and do not except any repaired wiring. That's IMHO. Mike

    fuel grade

Spyders have an antiknock feature that lets you use 87 octane fuel, but the engine will run hotter with less performance, I use 89 octane in cool weather, in hot weather or in the mountains 93 octane. I also use Marine Sta-Bil year round. That's IMHO. Mike

    THREE WEEKS

I feel your pain! I lost about 25% of my riding time on my 2011 Spyder RS-S SE5 due to BRP's inability to shock parts. That's IMHO. Mike

    Extended Warranties

I have a third party warranty and had no problems with any dealers I had taken my Spyder to. The last repair for my SE5 shifting that cost almost $2,000, they paid the bill in full and in a timely manner. The only problem was getting parts, my SPYDER sat for two months waiting for parts. Mike
