• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Sidecar

I agree with Scotty, one of the reasons most purchase the Spyder is due to not wanting the instability of a side car. I currently have a Velorex sidecar attached to a BMW R100RT and I have the sidecar for sale on Craigslist. I just don't use it much other than taking my French Bulldog for rides...

    Check Engine Light

Hi Pat, My Spyder started that about a month ago but it only happens if the outside temperature is 90 or higher and I was in Paso Robles when it was 105 degrees. Then it came on again when I hit the LA traffic last weekend. It seemed to only happen in high temperatures. I felt the relays and...

    corbin/brp seat

FYI Are you sure the BRP with Sport Rack is more $$?? My Dealer said the seat was about $450 and the sport rack with backrest is about $450. My Corbin with both backrests lists about $1100. By the way, my wife prefers the BRP backrest rather than the Corbin and I rarely use the Corbin...

    corbin/brp seat

Corbin vs BRP I have the Corbin seat and I find it confortable and so does my wife. I've set on the BRP seat and it compares to the Corbin very well. If I had it to do again I'd go for the BRP due to the price. I do like how my Corbin sets off the bike with the yellow piping and the BRP is...

    ISCI handbrake....better news

Possible Cost? :( When I talked to ISCI at LA they said the brake kit might run around $1400. Sorry but that is too pricey for my budget. I hope they will sharpen their pencils and come up with a more reasonable price :dontknow:

Thank you to BRP for a great event

Excellent Rally BRP :clap::clap: :agree: I second that, it was a First Class event. I can't say of all the primier models I've purchased over the years no other manufacturer has thrown a event like BRP in LA for Spyder owners. I't was very well done, Thanks BRP, hope I can also make...

    To loud

LOUD Pipes Don't Save Lives Bottom line loud exhausts just cause stupid laws to be invoked against us. I was sitting in a out door cafe in Solvang CA when a bunch of bikes showed up. I noticed several customers remarking on how beautiful the bikes were as they were backing them into parking...

    Check Engine Error Code

Thanks for the input from all. I get the same from my dealer, "don't beleive the forums". The Spyder is a awsume machine, but I hope the dealer's lack of trusting the owners and the information on the forums don't kill it.

Check Engine Error I forgot to mention my Spyder is a SM5. Is yours a SE5?

    Check Engine Error Code

I was riding in about 105 degree temperature this weekend and the Check Engine Code flashed across the dash along with the engine light and the Shift indicator had a "E" displayed. The steering also seemed to go from having power to not having power. This happened twice now and both only in...

    Corbin Trailer Hitch

Trailer Hi Spydegirl, When you say hi speed runs remember pulling a trailer in most states requires you to run at 55 mph legally. I've pulled mine at 70+ and occational bursts to 100. If you load the trailer right it will be very stable. If you need any other info contact me I've pulled a...

    Backyard nature

California Turkeys That was great that you were able to save a few of them and they even got a new Mom. We have several that go through our yard every day. The hen and baby's on the roof was last years batch. They take flight and love our pine trees. Mike

    stock pipe

Check the exhaust gaskets from the header to the collector. The picture shows what was left of the right gasket and the new one I replaced it with. What a difference after I replaced it. The one on the left was fine but I went ahead and replaced it as well. Mike

    Breather hose size...

Check my picture below. This is the amount of oil after a ride of about 500 miles. If I didn't do Lamonster's Mod it would have been in my air box. My Spyder is much easer to start now when it is hot and seems to run better, Mike

    My Last Mod...

I just replaced my gaskets from the headers to the collector and I have about the same miles. Do you still have the stock muffler? I do and I feel the way it is mounted toward the front and excessive weight caused the premature failure of the gaskets. My right one had only half left. Mike

    Ask the BRP/Spyder Engineers Questions

Fix for Exhaust "Slip Joint" Does BRP have any plans to improve the exhaust gaskets for the connection between the Collector and Headers? I have the stock exhaust and it appears the weight of this Large contraption is biased by the forward mounting of the muffler. The muffler needs more...
