• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2015 lineup rumors?

    More complexity. More weight. Unneeded.

    2015 lineup rumors?

THIS! THIS! That's all I want on the 2015 RS-S.

    2015 lineup rumors?

Completely different animal. How wide are the front wheels on the Piaggio? Much more narrow of a trike than the Spyder. I just don't see it working as well.

    2015 lineup rumors?

Thank you robmorg. You just said what I was thinking way better than I would have. The leaning on a Spyder just doesn't appear to me to be a natural thing.

    2015 lineup rumors?

I just really don't see that making anywhere close to enough differing in center of gravity to be worth all that complexity and weight.

    2015 lineup rumors?

I don't get the fascination with a leaning Spyder. You'd end up with rounded motorcycle tires (less traction) and only a slightly better center of gravity since you can't really lean the thing over. That for the low cost of a much more complex vehicle with a lot more quirks.

    2015 lineup rumors?

Agree with everything you said. And if people here get ruffled at the "old-folks" machine comment their head is in the sand. I catch some very good hearted flack for riding one at 39. It doesn't bother me...I stopped caring what other people thought a long time ago...but there is absolutely...

    2015 lineup rumors?

Funny you mention this. Was out riding the other night and stopped at a new Jeep dealer to look at a new Grand Cherokee (Have a 2011 now). As I walked back to the Spyder I was headed straight toward the front and thought "Man, that front-end looks dorky." but from an angle on it's GREAT. Make...

    2015 lineup rumors?

If you don't have a product that a market really wants you won't sell many to that market. BRP has never targeted the younger, sport rider type market therefore they don't sell a lot in that area. They go after the RT crowd for the right reasons...and reasons you said. That's where the money...

    2015 lineup rumors?

They sell a lot of RTs because that's how they've skewed the market. No doubt they make the most there...but their recent big push in to a younger demographic shows they see that as a big growth area. Very different target here: https://twitter.com/officialspyder

    Riding Naked!

Love it. When gear comes up it's "up to your level of comfort and safety". When we talk about spirited riding in the RS/GS forum the RT owners feel the need to come in and preach on every thread. :banghead:

    Riding Naked!

Good mesh jacket (I wear Revit Tornado) and a good wicking shirt is like just waring a regular t-shirt. Air just goes right through them. I'm ATGATT. Was coming back in my neighborhood the other night and came around a turn to find a car coming at me in my lane... Was just about to ditch the...

    2015 lineup rumors?

Given BRP/Can-Ams push for a younger demographic on social media, I see big things ahead for the RS. If you aren't on Twitter/Instagram you probably haven't seen it but they are making a BIG push for younger riders.

    2015 lineup rumors?

If it worked on a 2013+ I'd seriously consider it. Given the hit I'd take on trade-in plus buying a new 2015 this would probably be a cheaper option.

    2015 lineup rumors?

Depends by what you mean when you say "more". I have zero interest in an ST w/ the 1330. That's not a sport bike engine. It's a touring engine. Perfect for the RT and maybe for some ST buyers but not for those of us that ride the RS-S because we want the lightest/fastest. I don't ride an...

    2015 lineup rumors?

And my offer still stands to test out a 2015 RS-S for BRP if they'd like someone to put it through its paces. ;)

No way are they doing a diff engine in the RT. That's just idiotic.

The Stupid "have you read?" thing

If they'd let me disable VSS I'd be happy to take a multiple choice test every time I fired it up.

    1st to 2nd Gear

The 1st to 2nd shift is the most picky. If you search you'll see this has come up before. If I run the RPMs up I don't have the "lag" happen on the shift..but if I'm just slowly moving up in speed it'll lag and pause on the shift. It's just something the computer is doing on that shift.

Who went from RS to ST?

The ST hasn't been around long but I can't see them offering 3 different engine packages assuming the RS-S gets a bump...and some people have gotten a bit of "nudge, nudge" from BRP reps when the 2015 RS-S was discussed. The ST frame was changed to hold the 1330. It wouldn't surprise me one...
