• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First issue with my 2013 ST!! Arrrggghhh!!!

Spyders have a wet clutch, the clutch and the engine share the same oil, if oil level is low it will definitely affect the clutch. I have an SE5 and if my oil level is low the tranny does not shift smoothly!!!! I would think that similar affect on a SM5. The V-twin does consume some oil between...

    Vibration

Belt harmonics usually occurs at high speed. A wheel out of balance could cause vibration, a loose wheel can also cause it. Have you checked wheel lugs? Also the rear wheel needs to be checked, is it loose, or it may be not mounted straight. Another thing to look at, are all the tires wearing...

    Where is Al Gore

Here's climate change to think about... Polar ice cap up North is decreasing; polar ice cap down at the South end is increasing faster than the other is decreasing!!! Also, NOAA has decreased its global reporting stations by more than 50%!!! Convenient????

    2012 RS check engine/transmission light.

I hope your problem is fixed by now. My transmission was shifting strangely, I checked the oil, it was way low!! Added AMSOIL 10W-40 motorcycle oil (full synthetic), works great, tranny shifts smoothly and shifts are very positive especially at WOT!!!!! Love the result!!!!:thumbup:

    Difference in Spyder Vendors

I ordered my sway bar from BajaRon directly and a local dealer installed it for me and only charged me 1 hour labor to do it. Why the price difference, I don't want to speculate, ask Lamont. No ideas on the fog lights; are they the same parts?? Can one light kit be twice as good as the other...

    oil, filter, & o-rings

I use AMSOIL 10W-40, I like the way my tranny shifts better than with the BRP oil. BajaRon sells oil change kits with all the stuff you need for a change in it. Check it out.:thumbup:

    Transporting Spyder by pickup

For a standard full size pick-up the rear wheel wells are 48 inches apart (4 ft.), driving a Spyder into the bed will not work, you would have the back it up a ramp to load it. I see ads all the time in motorcycle magazines for ramps that cover the width of the tailgate. Usually made of aluminum...

New 2013 (to us) ST-S and a couple questions.

I don't know about an ECM upgrade, I picked my 2013 ST-S up in May 2015. It was new, just a left over, I have not had any dealer shop work done since I picked mine up. But, I have no complaints about how my Spyder runs, it runs great!!! Oops, I forgot, I did have the BajaRon sway bar and billet...

    Vibration causes?

Jim, Have you checked your oil level? The engine could vibrate until the oil is circulating upon start up. Remember it is a dry sump engine. The only time I notice vibration from the belt is above 95 mph. I haven't noticed the vibration at startup, but I am not usually on the Spyder when I start...

heat problems on a 2013 st

I got my 2013 ST May 2015, a new leftover. Before I picked it up, the dealer said they installed a recall that was to place heat shielding on the Tupperware around the motor area. After I had it for a couple of months the side panels were replaced after I complained about the excessive heat. I...
