• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

Dear diary, I've got an appt Thurs w/a local Spyder dealer to check out the rear wheel balance and setup. I still have the belt tensioner tied up for now (off the belt). I rode for a bit yesterday tweaking the shocks, got her to where I would tolerate the shaking and try to enjoy the...

    Tire availability? 165/55R15

It's been a while since I last posted, but I would put a cotter pin in there...but, there's no hole across from it or adjacent. It's like they missed it during build. I'll need to look at '21 F3 if I can find one... or if anyone finds this post w/a '21, please let me know.

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

Ya'll help make this community even more fun...needed that... :) Update...so, I exaggerated some on the 'much less shaking now'...must've been worn out last night testing this thing... Today's tests after work...belt tensioner is still tied up off the belt. Rides better, but still shaking way...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

OK..positive note. I raised the belt tensioner tying it to the frame, and the bike rode a lot smoother...still shaking some...but, it's a ton closer. I've also been tweaking the front shocks (Kings), and it seems to have helped as well. I did not want to come back to the house...I was having...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

@IdahoMtnSpyder - I have not personally adjusted the belt tension yet...bought 2 new 36mm 12pt wrenches to help and there seems to be too much play as if I will strip the axle ends. I'm not sure if this is normal for Spyders. I don't have any other large wrenches to try diff sizes. I'll need...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

@YIRYDE - I have not tried Lamont...not sure why I did not. I've driven that distance many times since day 1. I'm willing again. Also, I posted some more info 4:33pm CST...neither I nor the dealer has the OEM parts...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

@askitee - [email protected] to your lists. I'm about to that point...it sucks. This is my 2nd and maybe my last Spyder...but, then no more wind therapy. My 2014 ST-S was pristine and awesome with several aftermarket parts. I don't have the time and money to dive much further into this issue...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

I unfortunately do not have anything to measure... I do agree about what you get for the price we're willing to pay. The wrench is by a company I have not heard of (Masterforce), but that does not mean it's good or bad...might be a Menards brand. Pending life...I might go find another wrench...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

Ok... so, it's been a min... updating this thread. I worked with the local dealer's Spyder mechanic tweaking the various belt tensions. None solved the issue... Today...I bought two 36mm 12 point wrenches from Menards...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

I just picked up a 36mm 12pt from Menards https://www.menards.com/main/tools/hand-tools/wrenches-wrench-sets/masterforce-reg-control-drive-trade-36mm-12-point-metric-combination-wrench/67691/p-1524810592320-c-9157.htm?tid=-8656629573038245253&ipos=1. It doesn't bite on tight and is loose as...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

--sigh, it already has and prob has upset some folks including dealerships...not sure about Lemon laws off hand...it might be like BRP, might not be able to prove it's the bike and not an add-on/alteration. Lots of great feedback, suggestions, and questions. Many will take time and some will...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

Just to clarify...this is shaking...not vibrations. I appreciate the explanations for my personal understanding. I have been learning more-and-more about these machines over the years...it's not only fun, but a money saver doing what I can myself. I did not want to buy new tires. Something...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

Why does lowering the belt tension help shaking? Main question: So, I cannot find any solid laymen's explanation why lowering the belt tension below BRP's stats helps shaking? I am taking the bike to a local dealership tomorrow morning to have them lower the belt tension some more, but I...

    Swaybar Bolt Crooked-ness Confirmation Needed

Got new non-Kenda tires...did not help. I now have 2 sets of new tires. So, the last thing I can think of is to have any dealer adjust the belt tension lower as suggested by several others...which makes no sense. Why would loosening the belt help? The following is the entire update of where...

    Tire availability? 165/55R15

When watching the video on how to adjust the belt tension (mentioned above), the nut on the right side of the axle shows a cotter pin which the poster states to loosen the nut up til the pin and you don't have to remove it. HOWEVER, mine does not have a cotter pin in the axle security catch to...

    Tire availability? 165/55R15

Changed my tires and some belt tension and still a bad ride So, this week...I had a different Spyder dealer replace my new stock front Kendas with new Continental ContiProContact 165/60R-15. The shaking in the bike only eased up a little...I cannot tell much of a difference. Now, when I put...
