• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2014 RT Defective engine casting

Wrote BRPcare and gave them VIN and Build date - no response yet. Can you tell me the build date on your RT? Bike I am looking at has build date of 4/20/2014 - date found on label on swing arm. Thanks

    2014 RT Defective engine casting

STEVE - BRP - are you out there? I attempted to send a message to BRPcare, with the VIN number, but got the reply that BRPCARE does not respond to private messages. BRP - I won't proceed with this purchase, unless I receive a definitive answer from you. The build date on this bike is...

    2014 RT Defective engine casting

I am currently looking to purchase a very low mileage 2014 RT Ltd, Black Currant color. Recently, however, I learned from a 'reliable' source that there was a run of 2014 RTs, which had defective engine castings, which would eventually leak oil and require 'Bondo' patching. I understand that...

    F3-T Limited...which horn

I mounted a Stebel Nautilus Air Horn on my F3T - paid about $35 - there is a video which shows exactly where and how to do so. Another popular horn is the Wolo Bad Boy.

    Extwnded warranty

To this same issue, I am looking at purchasing a 2014 RT Ltd, very low miles, from a local MC dealership. This bike was brought up from a dealership in Texas, and was evidently traded in there. Question - I assume the manufacturer's warrantly has expired - what type of warranty would be...

    Best Western for Spyderfest

I was at Pitbull yesterday, Saturday, and stopped by BW - got a King for 3 nights. Be sure to tell them it is for Spyderfest.

    Clutch Shocker!

Wow, with just 5,000 miles on my F3T, it makes me cringe every time I shift gears. Especially into 1st or reverse, the 'clunking' is so hard and loud, it rocks the bike. My thought is always, "ouch"! I wonder what just sheared or broke off". Any connect here with what this discussion is...

    SM6 vs SE6

Hey Basil - Keep your Goldwing, and check out Tilting Motor Works, as mentioned earlier. Forget the usual trike conversion kits, and have a truly stable "LEANING" 3-wheel Goldwing. I'm a little guy, at 145lbs, and the Goldwing is much too daunting for me to handle, but with TMW's 2-wheel kit...

Twin Big city baffles in lamonster pipe?

I had the same conversation with Jacob and Lamont of Lamonster Garage - if I remember right, they were not convinced two baffles would make an appreciable lowering of noise. However, I am interested to learn what your result shows. Another possibility - cut out a cross-section of the honeycomb...

Twin Big city baffles in lamonster pipe?

The holes are 3/8" and the drill bit is about a foot long. If you have seen a cut-away of the converter, the honeycomb baffle is 4-6" deep, if I recall. One complaint of the cat, is that it put out a lot of heat. With the drilled out holes, I'm thinking it may run slightly cooler, though hard...

Twin Big city baffles in lamonster pipe?

I installed a BCT baffle in the Cat delete pipe on my F3T and it did nothing to reduce decibels. The loud roar, especially at highway speed, was more than my wife and I could tolerate. So, I reinstalled the Cat, after first drilling 6 or 7 holes in the honeycomb of the Cat. Now, the sound is...

    Just asking.....

It is definitely a pressure whine/whistle from the gas cap - open the cap and it will cease immediately.

    Correct F3 Belt tension info

Oh where, oh where has Steve at BRP gone - oh where, oh where can he be?? Hi Steve - how about a really quick response to put this issue at rest, and to alleviate mucho frustration?.

    BRP belt tensioner

Hi JC - I am totally confused. If my dealer mechanic says my belt is LOOSE at 800n and he tightens it to 750n, and if spec is 300n, then it is STILL too loose at 750n. What am I missing here? Wish I had asked for the krikit reading.

    BRP belt tensioner

Rode my 2016 F3T 320 miles round trip yesterday for first oil change and çheckup. Mechanic said the belt was loose at 800 newton's and he tightened to 750, which was supposedly spec. First time I have seen these numbers. Any thoughts? Vibration just moved to 65 and 70mph. Looks as though I'll...

BRP Cares, please comment on the new line up.

It's all good, JC - hope to meet you sometime either at Spyderfest or soon at Lamonster's BBQ. Incidentally, I rode through/around Houston(your home?) during all the rain and flooding back in April - what a mess. Blessings, Fritz
