• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Coolant Levels - How ofter is a top-up required?

Coolant is mostly water so some evaporation from the bottle (not the sealed system) is to be expected. Less in humid Florida and more in dry Arizona. It sould not, however be a once a week thing!

Can-bus ..What is it and how does it work?

http://www.bmwra.org/otl/canbus/ I found this on a BMW web site but it is a very interesting read on what a can-bus is and how it works (very basic description which is a good thing) I though it might be of interest to some. Enjoy!

    GAS - regular or premium?

I run regular and here is why. Pick any gas station. Ask them how much regular they go through in a week. Then ask them how much hightest they go through in a week. The regular is fresher in most places. With the alcohol freshness matters more

Rough Idle after engine reaches 3-4 bars

You should not be afraid to take it in now. There were parts availability issues in the past but these have been corrected. I have beed told that nearly all parts are available out of Atlanta. They were coming from Canada a while back and shipping delays, customs issues, ect. Should be able to...

VSS DPS ABS Limp mode after hard braking

Well, it was a blown tail light fuse. Since I have extra tail lights (even though they are LED) I was told this. The only issue we could find was a blown F7 tail light fuse. We replaced the fuse, cleared the code. Did a 25 mile test ride (and they did) and all seems fine. If it happens again you...

    Ebay Spring Trunk Instructions LOL

I dont blame him at all for trying to make money. He is not doing anything illegal. Now if you buy it ...... well..... On the same basis: I don't blame Marilyn Manson for getting up on stage and eating cats or whatever he/she does. I blame the Dumbbells for paying to see it, there by...

VSS DPS ABS Limp mode after hard braking

Got the call today from Action Yamaha Kawasaki Can-am in Bradenton. Bike is ready! Already! Wooooho! Just talked to the office girl so no report yet on what was wrong. I will find out tomorrow when I pick it up. If it's fixed I am very happy with the turn around time! I just took it in...

Removing the grip on throttle side?

A blow gun with a small pipe on the end works for me. It takes literally seconds to get it off. To reinstall hit it with a bit of brake clean and slip it on. The brake clean will soften the glue and then dry to and rebond. Just let it dry for a while before riding. Oh, dont forget to remove...

VSS DPS ABS Limp mode after hard braking

Took it in today to Action Can-am in Bradenton. Mike jumped right on it and reproduced the issue. He then hooked it up and said it had a bunch of codes but it pointed to one of the brake sensors. He said he has seen this before. He also said that BRP would make him do all the tests so he was...

VSS DPS ABS Limp mode after hard braking

Well, It happened to me today. I had to brake kind of hard (not hard enough to get ABS working but hard) and as soon as I did I got the DPS VSS ABS Lights on the dash and Limp Mode and the scrolling message. Once I cycled the key it went back to normal but I am fully able to reproduce the...

Check it again. I was wireing in my Caddi Tail lights and found that the wire colors are very strange. The black ended up being hot and the orange was ground????? Installed RT shocks today..

Couple of ways to see if pressure is correct. Check the temp across the tire (both edges and center) after a ride. Higher in center = too much air pressure High on edges = low pressure Down and dirty way. (no special tool required and fun too! good excuse when you get caught as well) Do a...

Here's The Real Dirt On Air Filters

Good stuff Magic man. Maybe I can shed some light on why 5 microns is the standard and why it matters. Anything smaller than 5 microns will get trapped and swallowed in the oil film and not cause any damage. Large particles will not fit in the gap that is created by the oil film and therefore...
