• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Wind Therapy

That is what my wife calls our rydes on the Spyder. Rode for about an hour or so tonight, and when we got home the odometer is over 10000 miles. The best thing is that it has been carefree riding, with no bells, whistles or codes. We are extremely happy with our Spyder and we hope that...

    Helmets

Kewl Metal handle bar helmet locks work great as long as it isn't raining and then your helmets become buckets. There is a helmet cable, that I bought from a local bike shop, and it keep to helmets sideways. Not as pretty as Kewl Metals but as effective.

    Road Trip

Just returned from our first of many road trips. Total milage was 2164.5 and we were gone 2 weeks and a day. Started by riding what is informally known as the Dragons Back, which is route 16 from Boone, NC to St. Marys, WVA. Along ride, but, well worth the effort. Proceeded to Deep Creek...

    Bluetooth

It is so nice when things work as advertised. Just installed XM radio, Sena SM10 Dongle, and Sena SMH10 headsets on our helmets. It took 3 minutes to to connect the radio to the XM satellite, and 5 minutes to pair the headsets to the dongle. Everything works great and the priority system...

To SHIFT or NOT TO SHIFT

My wife is learning to drive the Spyder and was looking for a simpler way to know when to shift. Since she is not mechanically inclined, and does not have the habit of looking at the tach, I told her to shift after the speeds of 28, 38, 48, & 58 mph, which equates to about 5000 rpms. She said...

    Kewlmetal fails to communicate

Starting to eat my words I called Kewlmetal last week, because one of my helmet locks broke. A woman answered the phone and was very nice and helpful. She said they would ship replacement units, on friday or monday. Here it is, saturday, and Fedex has come and gone and no helmet locks...

Spyder traded in at HD dealer

Saw two Spyder RT's at a non-spyder dealer, and I thought I would ask a few questions. The first was, how do you start this? They had to get a mechanic from the back to show them. Secondly, do you do the maintenance here? Again, after calling the mechanic, he said even though he has not...

It is probably because at our ages we know it is better to be a lover than a fighter.

Member since 08 thinking about a new spyder. Please help

Glad to hear you have the urge to get back in the saddle. That's amazing, and I know you will find the thrill of the ride again and wonder why you ever let it get away from you. In my humble opinion, you should not go newer than a 2013. I think the 13's have new problems that BRP needs to...

Accurate to check coolant level on a cold engine?

Checked my maintenance manual and it definitely states to check coolant with the engine cold. As said early, never open the system with a hot engine because it could scald you.

    Tire Air Pressure

Probably only read part of the manual or sticker on the byke instead of reading all of it.

    Kudos to Kewl Metal

We have the handle bar helmet locks on our RT and one of them would not lock properly and if it did it would not unlock. I called Kewl Metal and told them my story and without hesitation they said they would send me a new pair because each pair are keyed together and differently than others...

    RIVCO RT FLOORBOARDS ALMOST READY

I too saw them at Lamonts and anticipate purchasing them in the not too distant future. Like the way they are angled and I think getting use to the brake being a little further away will be easy to adapt to. I will, however, keep my foot pegs just for more leg movement.
