• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Smart Phone mount

Forget those mounts - look at the way he has his Chapstick placed. That is too cool. I'm low tech - its in my pocket and I have to pull over to use it. :roflblack: BTW - I LOVE all of the items that you have above the dash and behind your windshield, that must have taken some time to...

    What recall?

If they were good and left on their own, or were fired for something stupid, then its time to move on to greener pastors and a better dealer. I purchased my used Spyder from a dealer that made me feel dirty after the deal was done (I got a really good deal, but.......) - I have never gone back...

    NewB Question

I also agree with this - I have my GS at 18 and 28. Rear tire is a pain to get at even on the GS. You need to have a long tire chuck like this one. I use this type and it helps, but its still not the greatest. Also have the Ride-On tire pressure sensors - these are GREAT! You can see these...

    another nice ride

I was wondering what that code was. It started when I started riding the second hand spyder. Thanks for clearing that up.

    Kumho 225/50 R15

Just wanted to add to this post. I had a Can-Am dealer in Mineral Falls, WV (near Parkersburg) purchase and mount this tire for my Spyder. I have moved from the area, but they had no issues putting that tire on my Spyder. Tire is in MUCH better shape then the OEM tire was. I have 3K on the...

    Trailering my RTS

Careful - the crowds will start throwing rotten tomatoes at you. I'm 45 and the longest ride that I have done is 420 miles in a day - and getting off of the Spyder after that was like trying to get my sea legs back to solid ground. 536 miles in one day sounds like a challenge to me, especially...

    New owner

Come on now - its many safe kilometres (sorry, I'm a displaced Canadian).:D Be safe and watch out for those crazy drivers in Quebec. I lived in Laval for 10 years, and Montreal traffic is not something to take lightly.

    Is the Spyder slow?

:agree: My back tire lasted only 7255 miles - I did a couple of full throttle take offs with it. Is it faster then most 2 wheelers? Nope - but its plenty fast for me. I'm sure that you can take most cars from a stop. Slow down - enjoy the ryde. (I should take my own advice :yikes:)

    Mileage on back Tire

I replaced all 3 wheels. Kept the front ones OEM (couldn't get other tires that were that size in the local area) and went to a KUMHO Ecsta AST - same size as the OEM. Since the fronts are critical for turning, I think the back one should be put on for handling and also for hydroplaning. I have...

    Mileage on back Tire

Look up Kumho Ecsta AST - that is what I currently have. No problem with nanny and better wet road handling. The tire has M&S on the side - which is mud and snow. So this tire is SethO approved. (actually not sure what SethO has - but this tire would be good for his winter driving). My...

    First 414 miles

Congrats on the new Spyder. Don't forget to join the GOS (girls on spyders) - I think there are a couple of GOS members on Spyderlovers. Just a couple.

    Mileage on back Tire

Ummm, it seems like most of us missed this one. My opinion - if you do not feel safe, then don't go there. If having a firearm on you is a requirement to going into a place OR riding in an area, go somewhere else. Why take the chance? But then again, that is just me.

    Mileage on back Tire

Got 7 K out of my back - a little to aggressively on the starts. :ohyea: Just replaced with a Kumho - MUCH better on wet pavement. Half price of the OEM and my local Can Am shop wanted to put one on someone's Spyder, because they've been getting questions about going to a different tire from...

    Better helmet speakers?

I had the older design of ear buds that dropped into your ear, the ones that were completely plastic, and they did get uncomfortable after a while. I have a pair that is similar to the ones on the link in a previous post and I have not had any issues with them, had them in for 2 hours one time...

    Plasti-Dip Your Byke

This is something that I will be trying out soon. I have 5 spray cans of Daytona Yellow, and will be painting my rims (fronts and back) and my helmet. Pictures of my progress will be posted - this will be at least a month from now or longer. This is because I am going to a different employer...

    Key Duplication

Here is a scenerio. A thief has the following: - blank 2014 key - BUDS software - lock picks (to make the tumblers fall into proper position) - your 2014 RT Can they take off with your 2014 RT? Because the BUDS software will make the RT recognize the chip in the blank 2014 key, the lock picks...

    Key Duplication

That is the way that they made a duplicate key for me on my 2008 - my original key, master key and newly cut spare key. If you buy your key from someone else, the dealers cannot charge you the SUPER inflated costs. It cost me $45 for a duplicate - another dealer wanted to charge me $150. I...

IS THE DEALER RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR?

I agree that it didn't just fall off, and that the mechanic may have been a little rough on it. But one has to think that if he had not been too rough on it, to the point that it failed - would this have happened when the Spyder was on the road and it could have left the rider stranded on some...
