• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Never really have started a thread to keep up with my mods. So I will start it now.:) You can see below in my profile an updated list. But tonight I'm reporting on one of three major modifications I will complete by summer '09. Have planned a 2500 mile trip to Black...

    SE5 gear change thump!

I have to agree that shifting at 4000rpm is about the sweet spot, and now I've gotten my ears tuned to do this almost without looking at the tach. Now can I ask a new related question. Hoping someone can enlighten... I plan to get a trailer for my SE5 this summer... (Big roadtrip to...

    A Christmas Present from BRP

Well I'm another one of 10 lucky owners that just received my poster, about 36 x 24" in high gloss photo paper attached to thin wall board! The letter was dated Dec 15th and states: "... small token of our appreciation, we are pleased to provide you with this stunning photo of the Spyder...

    Removing Seat Pan for Rebuild

Thanks to everyone, BJT, RETREAD, and all. I see what you are talking about. And it's a done deal as of today. Hoping to get my seat about 1 inch higher, with the rebuild, but don't need anything expansive in the rear, except my wife says, make sure my part is just as comfortable as your...

    Removing Seat Pan for Rebuild

I've got the hydraulic rod removed, but with the backrest, the seat does not lift high enough to get to the bolt that is the hinge. Which brings me to another question... Will the new seat fit with the modified rear end the BRP backrest installed?

    Removing Seat Pan for Rebuild

Hello Everyone, Well winter has finally set in and I'm going to get my seat rebuilt - Russel Day Long. Everything I've seen and hear on this site says this is what will be the best for me and my partner. We've ridden some 4500+ miles now on our SE5 with no problems, except dead butts after...

First Real Road Trip - SE5

I have about 2800 miles on the SE5 since August 8th. And only one front fender tip light has failed. I replaced it via instructions from this wonderfule website in about a minute. Changed over to the yellow bulbs and they look sharp. Anyways, been reading alot from everyone about their...

    Zumo GPS question

I agree that the Zumo shows speed about 2-4 mph slower than the Spyder. Since I mounted my Zumo center, it hangs over the digital speed readout and I find myself looking at the Zumo speed indicator, I guess that even 5 mph faster if the Spyder is shows the true speed is not a big deal when...

    Spyder Color Poll

Can't remember the name of the dealer, have a card somewhere in the brochures and stuff from BBB in Fayetteville, AR this last weekend.... But he was demonstrating or showing off a complete custom wrap for Spyder panels. The design can be anything you want. I asked what's the price, and he's...

    2008 BBB-Fayetteville was Awesome!

Part 4 Just thought of something... by far there were more HD's. With all those liking premium gas... it's a wonder that Fayetteville didn't corner the market on that blend! But spyder just needs 87 octane ! And we pulled up to alot of pumps out of premium, no problem for the Spyder.

    2008 BBB-Fayetteville was Awesome!

Part 3... I bought my Spyder SE5 because I wanted to ride with my in-laws. Well, part of riding is going places. This was my first rally, and I have enjoyed it tremendously. Of course the novely of a Spyder hasn't worn off. As I said in previous threads, I had some cards made up refering...

Part 2 Spyder Visits the new HD Showroom in Rogers, AR. In our group there were 8 HD's, 1 Spyder, 1 Lehman HD Conversion Trike, and 1 Goldwing 1977 vintage. Of course all 10 other bikes were Spyder's Escort !!!

    2008 BBB-Fayetteville was Awesome!

Hi everyone, By now everyone is back fro Gatlinburg and I'm back from BBB (Bikes-Blues-Barbeque) in Fayetteville. We left from Lake of the Ozarks with a team of 11 bikes, (only one spyder) and travelled down the backroads Friday. Spent Saturday morning cruising the Pig Trail (Hwy 23) and...

Close call on the Dragon ride

Considering the Spyder is 5 Feet Across the bow... It's a double duty scary thought. A motorcycle out of control might be able to swerve a few feet and miss another motorcycle, but the Spyder is like a car. I'll have to remember that when I'm riding. By the way, does everybody take the...

    Red SE5 Delivery Date

Alot of us have gone through this scenario. I plopped down 1K in the last day of February, to get assurance that I would get my SE5 by November, then they changed the date to end of September, and well, I got it on August 8th. BRP is secretive about when, who, and how they distribute...

    Corbin must be happy

Didn't make it to Gatlinburg, but leaving today for Fayetteville, AR for the BBB. 100,000 bikes and great weather. Plus OCC will be there! Anyway, printed about 1000 business cards with a picture of a Spyder and specs on one side and our favorite web site address on the other. (Wish that BRP...

    Secret Motocycle Wave

Geez, I guess I never knew that a one-finger, two-finger, three-finger wave meant anything. I've been reading this thread and observing the other open road riders I've crossed. I'm almost scared to wave now. Since I'm going the Fayetteville, AR this weekend for the 50,000 + bike rally...

    zumo gps

:congrats::2thumbs:welcome That's a great deal on a ZUMO.... I purchased mine from the factory and still this price beats it by 250.00. Heard Garmin was reducing all GPS prices. Check out other spderlovers on installation pics. I directly wired mine to the battery. Some say that will be...

    Oh...the questions and options .......

Perhaps I'm not saying this right.... If you put down the $1000.00, and give your lender the bill of sale, showing purchase price, VIN#, etc. then they should be able to process the loan based on the fact there is a VIN#, it's listed as a motorcyle / trike, and the price is new. I got mine...
