• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Honda jumping into the 3 wheel world

Eww... it looks like a roto-tiller, a mountain bike, and an aardvark all put together. :barf: Sorry, I couldn't resist. No offense to those who might swing that way... to each their own... :dontknow: -- QM

What is this connector? Can I use it for a switched accessory power source?

@BLUEKNIGHT911 : another minor, but important issue that I failed to mention about the "inexpensive fuseblock" idea is that they don't "isolate" from the rest of the electrical system, they just provide fused access to the electrical system. If you put something "dirty" anywhere on the +12V...

    Transmission case color

:agree: :roflblack: That's why I like it... it looks like an angry insect or wasp... anything but a bloated touring rig. No offense intended to the rest of the SL forum. I just prefer the minimalist look, and I didn't want another full-dress tourer. -- QM

    And The Mods keep coming

Hmm... simple, effective. I like it! I have a large-ish SW-Motech tailbag that I might repurpose from another bike and duplicate your trick. I wasn't really thinking "outside the box" and kept my focus on the MAX Mount/LinQ arrangement. All of my planned mods are hypothetical right now...

    Ryker Forums question

I'm not sure how well this request/idea will be received because of its negative connotation. However, this is a valid concern: EVERYONE needs to be informed about technical and safety recalls on their vehicles. So... How about creating a section under Shop Talk for factory recall notices...

What is this connector? Can I use it for a switched accessory power source?

Another important thing to keep in mind about adding all of the farkles and gadgets to the Ryker: Can-Am only rates the Ryker's charging system at "400 watts @ 7000 RPM", per page 139 of the manual. The distribution block that I plan to use (link above) is programmable, so I can reduce the...

What is this connector? Can I use it for a switched accessory power source?

Agreed. I use these solid-state power distribution blocks on most of my bikes: http://www.rowe-electronics.com/modules They are a bit spendy at ~$190.00, but they are bulletproof and stupid-proof (and CAN-bus friendly). The question here would still be: where to cleanly attach to a factory...

    Caution regarding black classic panels

Did the panel "bleach out" or get "chalky" on the surface after the alcohol wipe? That has happened to me on other motorcycles and scooters (particularly the floorboards) in the past... something about the ABS plastic... too soft or not as chemically-resistant as it should be. Meguiar's...

    White key

Yep, I noticed that in the manual. That might become a new habit, just so I don't leave accidentally leave it on the bike. It's just odd to me to use that type of key on a road vehicle. I feel like I'm getting on my SeaDoo GTX, but the plug isn't on the bars and the floatie/tether is missing...

    And The Mods keep coming

 Nicely done! Can you provide any details on your mounting solution? I don't think the OEM tailbag will be large enough for my purposes (e.g. 14" laptop in bag, misc daily work items). Watching and waiting for the next episode... -- QM

What is this connector? Can I use it for a switched accessory power source?

@Grandpot : agreed. Better to wait for the service manual to become available before tinkering with the electrics. Maybe it could be something for the add-on "LED auxiliary light"? https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/shop/ryker-accessories/lights-accessories/lights/led-auxiliary-light.html I will...

Ryker Rorschach Test - Can-Am outdoor cover

Here is a quick video of a Ryker owner reviewing the OEM outdoor cover: Good video... I'm not knocking him whatsoever. But, from the front view, doesn't the cover look like a giant set of ... uh... female mammary glands in a tight brassiere? Or perhaps a male package in Speedo's? Maybe...

    Ryker 600 1000 mile update

WOW, you just made my night! Thanks for your alignment report and that it was fixable! I have a Rally edition that is already back at the dealer for alignment and other issues. My symptoms are exactly as you described yours was behaving. I have only 40-ish miles on the clock, but it's not...

    2 Picked up rally today..

 I'm interested to see how your mods turn out. Mine should be coming back from the dealer early next week, and then it's LET THE MODS BEGIN! +1 , the OEM unit sounds dinky. I put these on all of my bikes and they're super loud...

    White key

Hah, I had the exact same thought. White just doesn't match the aesthetics of the beast. I also don't like the no keyring hole issue. I know that they have the ball mount for your key ring, but it just seems too flimsy to me. I'm just not accustomed to having a watercraft/snowmobile key for...

    Ryker Issue Alert!

Agreed. As I stated before, I like this dealer and they are usually good to me. This bad delivery was unexpected for sure. I'm not sure if it's a case of simple human error, or if somebody was just flat lazy. The repeated insistence that they did the TSB/recall when I knew it was false is...

    Ryker Issue Alert!

There is another comment in one of my YouTube videos that is a totally new issue: dying in traffic (at idle, I presume) because of a spark plug issue? I tried to upload/attach a PNG picture of the comments, but I keep getting an "invalid file" error from the forum. The user mentioned that...
