• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

tough being a full figured man

    Turns out . . . . . . . . something that matches the F3's style is the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned. http://www.cyclegear.com/BILT-Pilot-Open-Face-Motorcycle-Helmet Tom

    I rode the F3!

Nicely put. . . . . . . . you captured your F3 experience very well. I started with the same reaction to the Cruiser style as you, I am really surprised by how much I am enjoying it. I didn't notice the change in the paddle shifter, but I was coming off an ST-S. I don't think the wire...

    Asia Pacific Launch of F3

I don't think . . . . . . . . that riding on of those would prepare you for an F3. :roflblack: I was perfectly happy with my ST-S and had not even heard about the F3 until 2 weeks before a demo came to town. I think it was about 30 days from hearing about the F3 to when I picked mine up at the...

    First close call on spyder

I will consider that . . . . . . . . . but it doesn't match my feelings or experience. My Chevy SSR is incredible at braking, but I am pretty sure my F3 is better. Both are better than my other motorcycles, though. In severe and sudden braking, two wheelers are usually out of control and...

    brp called

Me too . . . . . . . a couple of weeks ago. They also asked if they could call back in a few months to follow-up. What impressed me was it was not just a "rate this on a scale" type of survey. Mike ( I think ) was pleasant, seemed to know what he was talking about, and asked for context on my...

Courage and strength. . . . . . .to you and yours to get through this. Tom

Made the switch to F3 ( almost )

That sums it up . . . . . . . . . . very nicely! The two of you should be very happy. Tom

    F3 Gas Mileage

It varies . . . . . . . . in town it is 30 to 31 mpg. On my longer trips - 55 (mph plus) for 25 to 50 mile stretches, 35 to 37 mpg. I am just under 2k total miles. Our gas has ethanol in it. I have not tried Eco yet. Tom

Out for a nice 100 mile...

Well . . . . . . . . . that is OK if you can call them to find out where you are if you get lost. :helpsmilie: Tom

    7 Year Itch

Now. . . . . . . . you are beginning to see what the rest of us early buyers have been so excited about. I really enjoyed my other Spyders, but the F3 has re-energized my riding experience - what a wonderful feeling. I hope you feel the same as the coming years and miles roll by. Tom

Out for a nice 100 mile...

I have the same problem . . . . . . . . . . there is always this old smiling guy, who looks like my Grandfather, sitting on my F3! It looks like you do what I do, 'just ignore him and enjoy the ride'. Tom

    DEALER NOT TALKING..

To put it in perspective . . . . . . . . dealers probably get 'factory incentives' on the sale of a Spyder ( car/truck dealers do ). Customer Promotions are focused on the customer, but in the case of a discount, if you don't get it - effectively they do. Yup, check out the BRP website and...

    trunk lid issue

Agreed. . . . . . . . . . . I looked at mine today and can only guess that the scissor-hinge is the wrong one. There is no way that the hinge connection points can be mis-aligned on the cover or the body. But then, whenever humans are involved, all bets are off. Just to be safe, check to see...

    Some early thoughts....

Interesting. . . . . . observation on the belt & sprocket, maybe I have a British Spyder too. :dontknow: Thanks for for taking the time off from riding to post. Tom

Heated gear: Insulated or not ?

I have . . . . . . . heated vest. By itself, 45 - 50 degrees is fine. With a jacket, down to 32. With a full suit, even 25 is ok. I don't care for the full jackets, BUT, if you're buying heated gloves, that is the way to go ( most have built in wiring management down the sleeves wich makes it...

    trunk lid issue

My trunk . . . . . . . works as expected. Yup, have the dealer fix it. Like they said, the F3 comes mostly assembled, but it does need to be fixed. Anyway, congratulations and I am glad you're enjoying it! Tom
