• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Urban rack

I have it . . . . . . . . it is really equivalent to most car's glove compartments ( just like the rest of the F3's storage :roflblack: ). Good for goggles, bungee cords, enhanced toolkit, stuff like that. The fit and finish on mine is fine. I chose it over the slightly larger Mono-rack...

F3-S Suede Seat Cleaning and Care

It is not what you think . . . . . . . . . on the F3-S, the seat's surface is 'texturized' to give it a little more grab. It can look "dappled" or "blotchy" depending on if you like it or not. If you look closely at the catalog or online, you can see it. Just normal seat care products will...

    F3 Fender Swap

Agreed . . . . . . . They should be LED. They are on the F3-S, but all the other lights are incandescent. Sadly, your garage is cleaner than my house. No wonder my F3 prefers it's BikeBarn. :roflblack: Tom

    F3 Saddlebag Solution

    Now you did it. . . . . . . . . . . I didn't need to see their Scout Bags. http://www.greatbikegear.com/index.php/saddlebags/the-leatherworks/the-leather-works-scout.html I just looked at my F3 and it looks naked. Tom

    F3 Saddlebag Solution

Shucks! ! ! . . . . . I went out and bought a 3" drill bit - now I will have to take it back. Very nice post, I am not a saddle bag kind of guy, but these look good - so I am going to look into them. ( and, you know you can go back and correct a post, just use the edit button ) thanks...

    The Road Warrior Spyder

    I really like this . . . . . . . and while I don't go in for customizing F3s, this looks great. Tom

    100,000 Spyder!

Congratulations to BRP . . . . . . . . and just imagine a world without Spyders! Thank you so much, BRP! Tom

    ELKA problem

I never needed to replace shocks . . . . . . . . but I sure as Heck would not replace them with something that requires that kind of pampering. Thanks for the heads-up. Sorry you had to learn it the hard way. Tom

12 volt insert smoking on F3

I think you got your answer, so I am going a little off topic . . . . . . . . . . but I have seen several people talking about putting chargers on their Spyders. My Spyder is basically outside ( a BikeBarn ) and we have Winter temps. I do ride about 50 weeks out of the year - I have never had...

    BIG QUESTION

Dan, it is counterintuitive, but . . . . . . . . . . . . your earplugs may be the problem. If your earplugs seal your ear, any vibrations in your bones is transmitted to the aural canal and translated into sound. You can test if they do by eating a potato chip ( or something crunchy )...

    Trunk opening question

I didn't have to . . . . . . . after I installed handlebar risers on me GS, I found that if I pulled a little bit on the cable, my hood would pop open. Never had to shut down to get something out of the trunk after that. I seem to remember Nancy'sToy posted a How-To on hooking up a cord to do...

    Lousy Elka shock service

I have never dealt with them . . . . . . . . but your experience does not match up with what I have heard others say. Over all, except for having to make a few calls, I wouldn't be as upset as you sound, but then, God help anything getting between me and my riding time. I can only add, with...

    F3-S Lateral Service Cover alignment

No problem . . . . . . . . I am used to being confused. You should have seen me changing the wiper blades on my Chevy SSR yesterday ( for the first time ). ONLY after an hour of struggling, I suddenly figured it out and what I was doing wrong and was done with both of them 1 minute later...

    F3-S Lateral Service Cover alignment

Yes . . . . . . putting it better, mine is like yours - the manual is not inaccurate, it is difficult to show where the tabs go uner the body panels, where the cover goes over the panel and where it meshes with the cowling. Easy once you you have done it, difficult to describe & illustrate. Tom

    spyder F3S tool kit

No problem . . . . . . my tool kit also has 6 pieces in it - 7, if you count the plastic kit itself. But, I am not sure that is the problem. I have over the years put my own tool kit together - with the actual toolset needed to work on ( whichever ) Spyder I have owned. That the supplied...

    F3-S Lateral Service Cover alignment

Congratulations on getting your F3! Your original assessment was right, the panel is not flush-fitting. The illustration does not highlight the bevel on that end of the panel ( where the latch is ) very well. Tom

    Trunk opening question

Yup . . . . . . another one of those improvements over the old GSs. Tom
