• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Text Color , changing

I have no idea how to change text colors. It probably can't be done. I believe the text styles are fixed too, as well as the text size. Sorry, it's a crappy editor, notmuch you can do about it.

    Riding pants newbie question

You can buy either type depending on your needs or preferences. The ones that fit over your jeans are called overpants. For summer riding consider mesh, anything else will be too hot and you won't use them.

Great web site, but I can't find a listing for the shock relocators. Anyone know how to order?

    Elio

Successfully marketing a new type of road legal vehicle is incredibly difficult. It really makes you appreciate the remarkable engineering, manufacturing, and marketing skills of BRP. I wish Elio the best of luck, but with the most notable exception of the Spyder, these endeavours almost...

    Two wheels or three wheels?

I live near you. I finally decided to stop riding on two wheels after a truck intentionally or unintentionally ran me off Westford-Milton Road at 50mph at night. I needed all my skills to keep the bike upright on the soft grassy and rocky shoulder and barely managed to escape with my life. Thank...

HELP!!! I need an Electrical Engineer, or somebody knowledgeable on 'battery drain' issues?!

Scotty's correct you cannot diagnose this problem just by measuring voltage. When you say "12 Volt draw" it makes no electrical sense. You need to measure electrical current not voltage. If you don't know the difference between voltage and current think of voltage as the maximum water pressure...

NOT happy with my dealer service...

I don't know if you read my post above but the main concern with aging brake fluid is condensation absorption. If your brake fluid contains even a small amount of water it significantly lowers the boiling point of the fluid. You will have no idea your brake fluid is contaminated, the only way to...

    Spyder in the OUTBACK

Wow, those aussie adventure riders sure are crazy. I'm certain I spotted several kangaroos and at least one gator. :roflblack:

Another Givi saddlebag question (concerning locks)

If you know the key number you can order replacement keys. I would speak to Givi first before you drill open the locks, they may have some other solution. Givi parts department is at 1-877-679-4484.

NOT happy with my dealer service...

Brake fluid should indeed be replaced every 2-3 years. It's hygroscopic, it readily absorbs moisture. If enough water is absorbed in the fluid the water can boil when the brakes get hot. Boiling creates gas and gas is compressible so in a worst case scenario you could experience significantly...

    pro10is, Original Bike Spirits....

OBS contains polish as well as a cleaner and it's fantastic for smooth surfaces but if you use it on the flat black panels you may get some streaking and wax build up. Textured surfaces are always a challenge to clean. For these I first use a simple cleaner such as windex (no ammonia) to remove...

NOT happy with my dealer service...

:agree: Years ago I purchased a universal fit pressurized brake fluid bleeder for $90. That little gadget has saved me a small fortune and makes brake flushes a 20 minute one man operation breeze.

Google Earth not only includes the date of the view but also allows you to pick earlier dates as well. Cool stuff.

NOT happy with my dealer service...

Wow, I don't know what to say. I have a policy on all my vehicles to do all work myself if at all possible if not covered under warrenty, but I know that's not practicle for everyone. Everytime I break this policy I wind up with a huge bill and/or problems with the service. Sears once charged me...

    I love cats

This is actually a very good suggestion and one of the few things you can do that an animal would respond to. I don't think human pee would work but if you can find a dog that would be willing to contribute to the cause... Animals are very territorial and know enough not to tread on a superior...

Could I Have Some Decapitation To Go With My Memorial Day, Please

When I was a kid in CT angry landowners used to string up all sorts of traps to snag snowmobilers riding on their property. This was in the very early days of snowmobiling when official trials had yet to be established so as kids we used to ride on natural gas and electric service lines cut into...

Random things I learned about my spyder this weekend...

Jer, Try calling the Givi parts number above. Once I explained to them my BRP bags were made by Givi they looked it up and were able to help. Maybe they can do the same for the helmets as well. Worth a call.

    I love cats

Oops, read too fast didn't catch that. Sorry. I guess then I would suggest additional straps to make it harder for a cat or any other animal to fit under. A pain I know, but critters are always an issue outside. I have trouble with mice who love to eat my boat seats.

Random things I learned about my spyder this weekend...

Here is the response I received from Givi when I inquired about the availability of the lens: "Parts can be ordered by contacting us at 1-877-679-4484. Part number Z1424R." The cost was $10 for two, shipping included.
