• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help with cell phone emergency #'s

You didn't say who your carrier was so I can't give you details because every carrier uses different settings. But in general if you go to the "widgets" section there is usually always a widget that allows you to call a specific number in your contacts from an icon you could put on any screen...

    SPYDERLOVERS FROM THE NORTHEAST

Mike, I'm trying to understand why you're so upset??? You asked a question and we just tried to answer. You said any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. We were just trying to explain why so many Northeast riders have a hard time getting to Spyderfest. Somehow this upset you and I wish I...

    Internet Explorer 10

Most in the know consider IE to be all but dead, it's not supported well and has fallen far behind Firefox and Chrome. I'd recommend Chrome, it's fast and secure and Google is leading the way in internet technology for PC's, Tablets, and smart phones. It may be a pain getting used to a new...

    SPYDERLOVERS FROM THE NORTHEAST

Mike, Gotta agree with the rest of the guys, for those of us still working it's very difficult to get the vacation time, we have to compete with all the people at work who take their Spring vacations in April (very popular in the North) and put in for vacation time in early January before the...

    helmets

Actually the RX-Q is for normal oval shaped heads not round heads. It's not, as many people think, a replacement for the discontinued Arai Quantum which was definitely for round shaped heads. Arai currently has no helmet in production for round heads but rumor has it that they are working on a...

Arai Signet-Q. Best helmet you could get for long oval. Don't settle for less. For normal oval go with Arai RX-Q. http://www.youtube.com/user/RevZillaTV?v=qpVGs_K3PKE&feature=pyv&ad=2429121750 8&kw=arai%20signet%20q%20helmet

    Better garage lighting

Use T5 or T8 florescent bulbs. Do not use T12 bulbs or your fixtures will soon be obsolete. Make certain your new fixtures use electronic ballasts and not magnetic ballasts. Consider LED lamps as well, they're more expensive up front but will save you money in the long run.

    Better garage lighting

The best lighting for a garage will provide the most light for the least cost. If you're going to pick out new fixtures then the best choice would be the new T5 fluorescent bulbs with electronic ballasts. The T5 tubes provide the maximum light for the money (both in cost of fixtures and bulbs...

    REMINGTON GUN CO.

Your question is a fair one and I'll answer it directly. We all have a choice in life, we can choose to hide our heads in the sand every time we are presented with something we see as wrong or we can face it. If we choose to face it, we then need to select issues that we care the most about and...

Pin out for that 6 pin Diagnostic connector?

If I was going to do this I would start by getting my hands on ISO 11898, parts 1 and 2. http://www.iso.org/iso/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=33422 or at least something that described it. That would give you the base data link layer and the physical signalling. Then (and this is the tricky...

    REMINGTON GUN CO.

The definition of "politics" is: The art or science of influencing people on a civic, or individual level, when there are more than two people involved, of, relating to, or dealing with the structure or affairs of government, or the state. So if you thought it was anything less, or restricted...

Pin out for that 6 pin Diagnostic connector?

David, the "K-Line" is an alternative underlying physical layer for OBD via the KWP2000 protocol (ISO-9141) providing bidirectional serial communication with a data rate up 10.4 kilobaud. The CAN line (ISO-11898) is significantly faster with data rates of up to 1 Mbit/s.

It's so funny you should mention glasses. When I first got my smart phone I couldn't see the screen because I hate to carry glasses around with me. But the phone was so useful I finally gave in and started using them. It changed my life. I could see my speedometer, my GPS, I knew what I was...
