• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hand Brakes

ISCI Agree with all the above. I had one on my 2011 and now on my 2014 RT. Very high quality.

Considering adding Hand Brakes any ideas on cost and places to install?

ISCI I put ISCI handbrakes on my 2011 RT and my 2014 RT. Very high quality units, made in Alabama, the staff are very helpful in working with you during installation if you have any problems. A nice hydraulic system that works by pushing on the "pedal" the same as if you were stepping on it...

    Third Brake Light

Agree. I manually flash the brake light a few times if someone is approaching. With the CD HMT unit back there, it's pretty hard to miss. I have a flashing unit on my other bikes but I wired it so some brake lights come on steady, as normal, and my "extra" lights flash. With the RT, it...

    Third Brake Light

:agree: I've had two on my two RT's. Both were great, bright, and good quality. The only word of warning is installation. With the super sticky tape on the back of the light unit, you get one and only one shot at putting it in correctly in the recess. Be careful and think through how you...

    1330 Spark plugs

:agree: I have the Midwest / Green Manual for the '14 1330 RT and my 2011 RT. Great manuals, very clear print and photos and easy to read. Word searchable, extra info like the detailed "dealer presentation" on the new (for '14) 1330. The opposite extreme from being a scam.

    1330 Spark plugs

Here is a page from the 1330 RT manual. Sorry it's not more clear but you can make out the heat paste part number and that it must be applied to all but the first two threads. In the photo of the plug, the two arrows labeled "1" define the area that is to have the heat paste. In case you...

    flashing cam an on dash

But you have to admit that the 12 and 13 (if accurate), do indicate a problem. The voltage definitely should be 12.6 or 12.7 minimum at rest -- and it's important to note that must be truly at rest, several hours after being charged or the engine run. Immediately after being charged or the...

Has BRP Fixed the DESS Modules?

I agree. But given that there is a problem somewhere in the chain of receiving the signal, transmitting it by hardwire to the DESS, forwarding it on to the ECM and the ECM processing it, who knows? I said it was blind hope and that's what it is. I could speculate that they moved the antenna...

Has BRP Fixed the DESS Modules?

The antenna that receives the signal from the key is part of the ignition switch. The one hope that I have is that BRP did something with the antenna. It's part of the ignition switch. When Deanna's failed the second time, BRP said to replace the DESS module and the switch. The parts that...

Has BRP Fixed the DESS Modules?

Prior to 2014 the DESS module did the authentication of the key and then told the ECM it was OK to start the bike. So if you changed the DESS module, you had to reprogram the keys so the new DESS module would recognize them. For 2014, that all changed. The DESS module is now just a...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting, to say the least. I just looked again at BRP and ProCaliber's on-line parts manuals. They still show 3598 for the '14's (which BRP says is unavailable, Pro Caliber does not say that) and 4277 for the '15's. A reverse search for 4413 says "No Parts Found. Try Again." Let's hope...

    ARACHNID VEE RUBBER TIRES

den2614 if you read my post #19 you would see that I did not have to order a tire through a retailer. Mine came direct from Vee Rubber as part of a compensation program. Highwayman provided a link to a site where they stock and sell all four varieties: both size fronts, both rears. I think...

    ARACHNID VEE RUBBER TIRES

Will do. Thanks. We're all so used to seeing the Kenda's worn in the center that it's hard to imagine being worn on the edges. Now if only we could even that out...:roflblack: Your 30psi may just do that.

    ARACHNID VEE RUBBER TIRES

Glad you checked. If you have 5mm tread in the center, you've got lots of time left. Why not find another vendor who has the proper Arachnid? There are a couple in this thread that have gotten them -- send them a PM and ask where they got them. I got mine direct from Vee Rubber as part of a...

    ARACHNID VEE RUBBER TIRES

I have one of the 35004's waiting to be put on for my 2014 RT. However, I don't know that Vee has discontinued the 35002. I would not rely on the mfr date, which is on the side of the tire, but would rely on the load rating on the sidewall of the tire. If your new tire is an 80H, it's good...

    Constant Error Code

Agree. Maybe I made it sound like that's what they did in my case, but not so. The proper diagnosis and logic were followed. For the benefit of the original poster, I'll elaborate. First step for a lean condition is to look for vacuum leaks. Did that and the tech found the MAP sensor tubing...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prior to 2014's, the DESS module did the authentication and told the ECM it was OK to start the bike. For 2014 they changed strategy and made the DESS module just a pass thru. It just receives the information, passes it on to the ECM and the ECM does the authentication. So experience with...

    Constant Error Code

#2 Cylinder Runnig Lean Yep. As Cuznjohn says above, the rear cylinder is running lean. I had this issue on my 2011 RT and it reappeared after a couple thousand miles just like yours is doing. First they thought it was a vacuum leak at the MAP sensor hoses. Then it came back. Then they...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Updating My Post Above In reading the manual further, there is more to it. :gaah: At one point the manual says the DESS antenna is powered up by the ECM when you turn the key on and the antenna energizes the microcircuit in the key and then receives the key code and transmits it to the ECM...
