• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Opinions of comfort seat

I think it matters for which Spyder model you are planning to upgrade the seat on... the BRP Comfort Seat for my 2012 RS model Spyder didn't change my seating position by so much as a hair from the original plain-jane seat. The seat rise between driver and passenger is in the same location (I...

    Ride report

Go ahead it's ok to admit it... you're smitten with the Spyder now. ;) - Michael

    Maintenance time...

Looks good and clean too... how many miles on it so far? I'm almost to 17K on mine, just paid the final bank note on it last week! I'm going to have to replace the back tire before state inspection next August the center is almost smooth; it may still be ride-able but won't pass inspection at...

    Spyder-friendly Motorcycle Safety courses?

Thanks but I'm near-ish to Kingwood/Humble. Lufkin is almost a 2 hour drive/ride 1-way... I'm not overly fond of long road trips in my truck nor on my Spyder. I'll find someplace nearer hopefully later this Fall and try to get this thing accomplished, it's far too darned hot to be barely moving...

    Really new Gimp Spyder owner

I get the BRP Spyder SE5 service kits off Ebay for my oil changes. Note that you'll need to make sure it's the updated kit with long transmission filter (early Spyder's used a short transmission filter that was rated for about 3,000 miles but then BRP extended the transmission filter so their...

    EZ-Tag in Texas

So to sum it up, the tollway EZ tags are not optically read so they don't have to be LOS to the tag readers in order to work. I'd still like to see these blasted toll roads banned and I do my best to avoid them whenever I can. :cus: - Michael

    Parking Brake Adjustment

Thanks, sounds like when I do my next oil change (coming up quick) will be a good time to tackle this task since I'll have the left side panels off already then. I did lay down on a creeper and took a look at the gear teeth and medallion mechanism. It seems that the medallion doesn't want...

    Parking Brake Adjustment

On a related note guys, concerning the releasing of the parking brake on an RS SE5, is there anything that needs adjusting or lube? I have a devil of a time getting my park brake to release, often having to kick the parking brake pedal down hard before it'll finally let me go! :banghead: But...

    New SPYDER rider here !!

Think you saved enough on purchase price to afford to change out the red panels for white ones (or have a paint and body shop re-finish the red panels in white) if you want to. DESS is the Digitally Encrypted Security System. It reads a digital signature in the Spyder key to confirm it is...

San Antonio TX PD testing Spyders!

Uhmmm...Haha maybe? Not an F3 fan really. Looks worse even done up in that scheme. :dontknow: - Michael

    I know you didnt ask...

Why are you worrying about this? Pay it by April 5th and the whole thing is pretty much a moot point. Seller has probably been pissed-off by non-paying or really slow buyers and now thinks this is the way to insure the buyer pays in a timely fashion (lame, I know... I usually wait at least a...

    55,000 Miles

Not sure how wise I am, but I really do enjoy my Spyder! How many sets of tires have you worn thru in 55K miles? I'm at a little over 15K on mine and the original tires all 3 still look real good with plenty of tread still. Oh and, Congrats on reaching 55K! - Michael

    Brake failure help

Just thought I'd post an update... with the brake fluid reservoir caps oriented so that the cap vents are to the rear, I get the "Brake Failure" message a whole lot less now I must admit! I was getting it every few weeks, now it only comes on every few months (which I would attribute to the pads...

RS rider takes the F3 for a demo ride.

Why would you think you might be disrespecting someone? They make different model Spyder's because well... different strokes for different folks, and all that! Depending on how low the mileage is and whether it's been maintained properly (and assuming you like the color scheme), that's a...

    ok, who is it?

Back to the Future:Part 2 And come October 21st of 2015 "... they got rid of all the lawyers, justice is much faster now!" says the Doc. Brilliant idea Doc, but doesn't seem to have come to pass yet... :cus: Now what's a safety card anyway? Does it have anything to do with having to press that...

RS rider takes the F3 for a demo ride.

For me aesthetics count as much as performance, and I just didn't care from the moment they released the F3 for the look of the thing. And the tiny front storage compartment... I couldn't live without the 13 gallons of storage in the front of my RS! I saw an F3 up close at a dealership a few...

    More lights.

I'm thinking of trying some el-sheet behind the passive reflectors to make them actively lit but not quite as bright as LED's would be. Just a thought.... - Michael

Headlights coming on when bike is off

Wow! I think you need to call an exorcist! :yikes: What was that car's name that was possessed in the movies? Oh yeah, Christine! (Had to Google it to refresh my memory.... lol!). You didn't by chance give your Spyder a name did you? - Michael
