• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ram handlebar mount

Thanks all. Just ordered from Mount Depot - same base as Pincushion, RAM-B-231Z-2 (includes both strap - 1.57" to 3.15" dia - as per his picture as well as the U bolt -.5" to 1.25" dia - fittings). Added 201U Standard arm length, 238U Diamond plate, and GA7U for my Garmin 276C. Looks like it all...

    Ram handlebar mount

Billy and Dave - thanks for the pics and list of items. There are so many pieces in the RAM system and I haven't found a stocking dealer anywhere in northern Washington. Billy - can you post a list of the parts for your installation - looks like the short arm, what about the piece at the top of...

    Temperature and instrument bars?

Is there somewhere that tells what each bar on the temperature guage equals in actual coolant temperature? And when does the fan kick on? Thanks.

    Ram handlebar mount

Pincushion's looks like the right thing for me. Can't put it on left side though due to clutch reservoir. Will have to take a look and see if it fits on the right side. Like the idea better than the U bolt which could possibly slip.

    Ram handlebar mount

I'm sure there's something out there on this subject but I can't seem to make a search work now. So will ask the question: does anyone have one of those Ram mounts that uses a "U" bolt around the handlebar for their GPS or whatever? Thanks.

    Engine RPM, beak-in and after

Back in the old days of owning sports cars and then later in life with motorcycles, the "rule" was to keep the revs between the torque peak and the horsepower peak. (I saw something somewhere (can't locate it) that was a small chart of the rpm's in each gear.) Based on the printed specs, this...

    Fog light replacements?

OK Stormtrooper, you hit the nail on the head. Leave the "fog light" openings open for air flow. And mount the driving lights lower. Just want more lights up front, not necessarily fog lights.

Clutch tension relief - any ideas?

Well, based on wht I've read here and the feeling in my left wrist, I too order the part today. A question though for those more knowledgeable that I - what about the factory warranty? I'm thinking, based on what I've been told in the past, that if there was a warranty issue with the clutch...

    Fog light replacements?

I'm looking to mount driving lights in the locations where BRP shows their fog lights should go. Does anyone know if there is a supplier out there with such lights? I've been looking through almost all the online vendors and can't seem to find anything. Thanks.

    Chuckanut ride

Did it today twice, up and back. Have done it many times on the (now sold) BMW R1200RT. But today was the first for my new Spyder. Rode up from Anacortes, had a huge omelet at Skyark's and then rode back. Still in the break-in period so didn't want to the Interstate back. Great day, great...

    SpyderLovers Troubleshooting Webpage

In the meantime - till the webpage is ready - how about just pinning it to the top of the Shop Talk list of threads. Make it easy to get to and review new posts. Just a thought....:f_spider:

    What to pack?

10 years ago (when we were in our early 60s) a buddy and I did a 3 month 13000 mile trip from Oregon across to PEI, south to Florida - well, you know, all around. We took another friends advice and brought with us only very old underwear and socks. Throw them away after _______ (insert your...

    Whatcom/Skagit county riders

Well, I have the Spyder and it's sitting here covered up at Fidalgo RV park in Anacortes waiting for an Oregon trip permit. WA only gives you three days and since I'm registering in Oregon, had to get one form Oregon (21 day permits). Should be here before the weekend. Would like to get together...

    Excellent Scotch

I used to be a McCallan guy but now I'm with Balvenie - keep 2 bottles in the motorhome: a 12 year old for when there are quests, and a 15 year old when I'm sipping by myself.:2thumbs: Will have to look for the Caribbean Cask, never heard of it before.

    Spyder initiation test

As to the mods, the test when I was in the Harley world was whether you could pick up the annual parts catalog with one hand! Usually at least 1 1/2" thick and weighing a few pounds. And each year it got bigger. At least with the Spyder, all the aftermarket vendors are online and the BRP catalog...

    Spyder initiation test

OK, I know this is a process that you all have gone through. Just wondering how many more tests there are in addition to the two I have passed already: 1. Nelson Rigg full cover for the Spyder comes out of a bag the same size as the half cover bag. Now I couldn't get the cover back in that bag...

    Choices, choices......

Everyday in life there are choices. I guess I've chosen the smaller yellow one.:roflblack: What are your choices??:ohyea: (When I saw the outcome of this picture, I couldn't resist this. My kids wanted to know if I bought the boat instead of that "yellow thing".)
