• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

VSS Fault and engine shutting off

Along with everything everyone else said you may want to see if you are not pressing the brake while still having the throttle open. You indicate that in every case you are using the brake. If you are also holding open the throttle, it causes the nanny to be confused and you get the VSS and a...

    RS parking brake adjustment

Ditto on this. I adjusted mine often and wrong until I read the DIY section on this. When done correctly it will hold up for months if not years. This has been a bother on the RS since its inception.

    Affordable Health Care Website Fixed!

Patience. They are coming up with the Affordable Motorcycle Act next. That is where you have to buy a motorcycle whether you want one or not, if you like the motorcycle you have you can keep it (unless it is sub standard) and if you don't buy a motorcycle you will be fined. I can't see how...

    Can-Am Alternative?

When they start selling them for $6800 I will buy two. It is not going to happen. Someone will eventually make an enclosed three wheel vehicle but not for that price.

    Best comfort seat available

I have tried both a BRP comfort seat which is more comfortable than the stock seat-barely. I now have an Ultimate seat and it suits me to a 't'. The back rest feature alone makes it worth buying. Your experience may be different. I am 5'8" 170 if that makes any difference and I ride 12-15k a year.

    Tire Options

I would like to suggest that there is something wrong with your bike. An RS will get 15k out of an OEM tire. I don't know about an RT. I can't imagine how hard you would have to ride to wear out a tire in 5K. My 'normal' ride has 710 hard turns in a 55 mile stretch (yes I counted them) and I...

    RT-S 2010-2012 // 2013 // 2014+

It is a certainty that the new 2014's will have issues. The question is how many and how critical. The 2008's had a serious power steering issue but only a few people actually experienced it. Some didn't have any power steering at all and never knew it. So a lot of it is perception or what...

    Curiosity

There are a lot of them out there and they never seem to get the piggy to market. I had a down payment on an Aptera and that went belly up. Elio is next. If they sell them for $6800 I will by two but that is not going to happen. More closely related to a Spyder is a Carver Fly-the-road with...

    Adjusting the Handlebars

I have BRP three inch risers and they work well for me. (I am 5'8") I have an extra one somewhere, I think, if you are interested.

    Front End Vibration ?

I chased this for a while in a 2008 RS/GS. The cause was Ride On in the tires.

Need Opinion On 3 Different Buying Options

Get the 2014 ST-s. I have been driving 2008 RS/GS waiting for them to come out with this bike. Yeah it could have issues but that is part of the adventure. The 2008's had issues but up to this date are still the best thing BRP has put on the road. (I am going to regret saying that aren't I?)...

    Well, Well, Well

I would like to claim the record. I got my first Spyder (#610) in October of 2007. Still no welcome kit. Where's the love?

Feeling a little bit of a surge on bike

Check your right hand exhaust gasket. Better yet, if you have not replaced it with a Honda part just do it and remove it as a possibility.

Cornin vs Ultimate Seat... which one and why?

Ultimate. It works really well and then you don't have to deal with Corbin which is a plus in my humble opinion.

Parts shortage for older models now with the 2014's in production?

I agree with Nancy'sToy here. As far as I know the manufacturer is only obligated to supply parts during the warranty period. That's a legal obligation. After that I believe they supply them because there is money to be made. And when that is no longer a viable option there are after market...

    oil overfill

Yeah it is hard to get a reading. Follow your owners manual to a letter. My 2008 with 21,000 miles does not use much oil. Since I run it a half quart low I generally have to add some halfway through a 5,000 mile oil change cycle. So one half quart every 5,000 miles If you run it full, it...

    oil overfill

It is difficult to get a good reading one your oil level. Read you manual and do it exactly like it says. At least that will be consistent. If your oil is actually overfilled it most likely will blow up intot he air cleaner and then drip down and making you think you have oil leaks every...

Wiring a 12v recepticle from the exhisting gas gauge wiring please help

That strikes me as being a really bad idea. Why not just do it correctly and you may avoid a whole host of intermittent problems that will be difficult to track down. There is no way to prove or disprove this but my guess is that a large majority of Spyder associated problems are caused by...

    Possible oil leak?

Run one half quart low on your oil and clean your air box out. Even then what has already gotten on your engine may drip down for some time. Then just ignore it.
