• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check Engine Light, Full Screen, Bottom of Screen, and on in Tach

Thanks! Thanks very much! I got a copy of the Green Manual but it doesn't go into body panel removal and all that. I'll check out your suggestion page for sure! :-)

Check Engine Light, Full Screen, Bottom of Screen, and on in Tach

Old Phone...Doesn't Have Apps My old cell phone doesn't run apps. I'll look into checking the throttle body hoses as soon as I learn how to get to them. I have lots of auto parts stores around, so finding the right size should be no problem.

Check Engine Light, Full Screen, Bottom of Screen, and on in Tach

Got NO Codes I just tried the "mode-set-turn cancel" approach, and got no codes at all. At the bottom of the square screen was a picture of the whole bike, then would change to a picture of the engine...then the whole square screen would turn orange with the "check engine" message. The little...

Thanks! I'll Try That... I'll give that a try, and if I get codes on the screen, I'll enter them here, and hopefully you folks can tell me what they mean. The strange thing is that I ride the bike every other day, and haven't had a single issue, weird noise or anything!

Check Engine Light, Full Screen, Bottom of Screen, and on in Tach

My 2012 RT SE5 has been running great with no issues...until today. I got about a mile from my house when the "check engine" light appeared at the bottom of the center screen. I pulled over, stopped the bike, and checked oil and coolant levels (made sure both caps were seated and closed...

    Battery Replacement

Yup, It Helps a Lot! Thanks! I'll probably give a try myself...just hoping I don't have to remove half the "tupperware" panels to get at it. LOL

    Battery Replacement

Good video Good video, but I hope I don't have to remove the side panel, mirror, etc. on my 2012 RT. That's a bit more than I'm willing to risk... Maybe, just maybe my 2012 has enough room, and access to the positive terminal so I can slide the battery out. I'll pull the battery cover and...

    Battery Replacement

Good to Know! That's good to know. Reseeting those things is pretty easy. I had to reset them when I got the bike. I can probably do the battery swap myself, especially if I can watch the video first to see about any tricky parts. I'll check out cheapcycleparts.com and the suppliers listed...

    Battery Replacement

I may need to replace the battery on my 2012 RT-SE5. I have some questions regarding this procedure: 1. when the battery is removed, will I lose stored information like mileage? 2. is this something I should do, or should I take it to the (very expensive) dealer? 3. if I do the replacement...

    COMPLETELY DEAD

Oops... I'm sorry about that. My symptoms sounds the same as the OP's, so I thought I could jump in and learn if his solution would be mine, too. In the future, I will start my own thread. No offense meant...:opps:

    COMPLETELY DEAD

Load Test To do a load test, I should start the bike, then check the voltage with the multi-meter while its running, right? If I had another set of hands, I could measure the voltage while the bike was starting, but the meter has points, not clips so I have to hold them against the terminals.

    COMPLETELY DEAD

Good Idea! Thanks! I'll do that. Hopefully my manual shows how to remove the panels. The battery cover was a bear to remove, even with the seat up all the way. I'm hoping the issue is as simple as replacing the battery.

    COMPLETELY DEAD

I Don't Know the Age Since I bought the bike used, I don't know the age of the battery. If I can get it done for a reasonable price at the dealer, its probably a good idea to put in a new one anyway. I plan on some long trips this summer, and don't want to get stranded. I removed the...

I'll Check Good suggestion...but if the Main Fuse was blown, would the bike start with jumper cables? Mine did.

I'll Be Stopping That! YOW! I thought starting and running her every couple of days would be a good thing, especially on those days when I can't actually ride her (ice and snow, etc.). But if its causing harm, I'll stop doing that immediately. And I sure don't want to have to replace the...

    COMPLETELY DEAD

Good Advice! That's good advice. Thanks! I borrowed a multi-meter and checked the voltage. It read 12, so it appears that the battery is okay. Hopefully its a loose connection of either the positive or negative battery connection cables, or maybe a corroded connector. I sure hope so...

    COMPLETELY DEAD

Same Thing Happened TODAY! I stopped to gas up my 2012 RT-SE5, shut off the bike, turned the key and lifted the seat. Turned the key back to insert position, as always. Filled 'er up, closed the seat...turned the key and NOTHING...blank screen, no self-check, nothing. Kill switch in "on"...

    North Carolina Spyders

Welcome! Welcome! I'm up in the NE corner of NC. We're about an hour from the Outer Banks, which is always a great ride, especially in good weather, and during the "off season". You may also want to consider a ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I've only done it in a car, but this summer...

    Ice, Snow and LOW Temps!

Full Antifreeze Got her all filled up with 50/50 antifreeze back in October, so should have no problems on that end.

    Ice, Snow and LOW Temps!

No Salt Out Here I'm outside the city limits, in "the county", and they don't use salt or brine (mainly because of the expense!) on the roads out here. Two days of 50-60 degrees melted everything, so no danger of ice remaining. I will have to wash off a significant amount of mud, though. My...
