• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I did find that by putting Iridium plugs on both my HD's shortened my warm up time significantly.

How to spread the brake calipers to reinstall rear brake on rotor?

I thought doing this was just for the parking brake when you are putting new pads on? So what you're saying is that pushing the brake pedal down does the same mechanical function in the caliper as the parking brake. I just looked at the service manual & you are correct. I always thought the...

    HD owners educate me

Yup, been there, done that!:roflblack: EFI was a great improvement to the internal combustion engine. So long as the engine has oil & coolant, you can drive off shortly after starting. Revving a cold engine to high rpm's is a bad idea thou.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but I meant that the miss & stalling problem is gone since putting EFI on but the potato sound is still there.

    HD owners educate me

The way I understand it is a HD with a carb doesn't pull quite enough air/fuel mixture at idle and that gives it the potato noise with an occasional miss. Blipping the throttle before taking off insures that the bike doesn't stall. Yes, I did experience this with both my HD's. Once HD...

    Penalized !! For owning a Spyder !!

Me too. I have Foremost on my Critter and the only problem I had was their system told them it was a 998. I told them they were in dire need of updating. This was August last year.

What is an entry level Spyder?

Oh, I see the light! Yup, what UtahPete said then. But are they still making the 998? I wonder if they could get one of the skidoo engines to work in a spyder? Anything is possible I guess. I see where you are going with this Rob. You thinking BRP might come out with a starter spyder??

What is an entry level Spyder?

Well if the op meant new then they might as well consider the 1330 then. I'm thinking probably not many new 998's sitting at the dealers anymore. Just looked at Imotorsports and they have one 2016 RS-S SE5 listed as new.

What is an entry level Spyder?

Check craigslist in your area. Search for spyder & you'll find a few of them.

Is the Clunky First Shift normsl?

Yup, first shift goes clunk. My Sportster, Softail, 3 Yamaha 650's, Yamaha 350, Honda CL360 and Yamaha trail 60 all clunked to some degree on first shift. I think it all depends on how well the clutch plates are stuck together.

    K&N Air Filter - 2017 RTS

I stand corrected. And of course your response got me thinking that there isn't any significant amount of spyder ryders that take their rydes off road. So since spyders are not exposed to extreme conditions & the K&N filter doesn't have to be replaced for a very, VERY long time, it just makes...

    K&N Air Filter - 2017 RTS

I think this may have been a topic of discussion once before. If I remember correctly most everyone agreed that there was no need to use an aftermarket filter. Air flow of the factory filter was sufficient enough and aftermarket doesn't filter well enough. Please correct me if I'm wrong...
