• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stalling 2016 RT Spyder - any ideas?

Coughs, sputters, and dies while still at idle? Like it's running out of gas? Or coughs, sputters and dies when you try to increase the throttle? Was it sitting for awhile? Why did you think water in the gas? Understand about ethanol fuel - If you've had enough water in the gas to cause phase...

How many 2014 - 2019 RT's are fitted with '13 Heat Scoops? Any benefits? Negatives?

You remove the deflectors. Don’t they have two torx screws holding them on? But first, try to find the kit. Used to be on Amazon a lot. Links to install instructions below. They’re pretty brief. Folks on here that have done it can help further...

Any problems connecting GPS direct to battery?

I’m looking at the on-line manual, page 44. Not seeing greyed out, just highlighted in black. Not seeing 2 arrows pointed to 2 places. Location 3 under the passenger seat looks easiest to find. Did you look? That’s why I ask if they’ve been removed from the 2024. They were there last year. Are...

Any problems connecting GPS direct to battery?

According to your Operators Guide, the 2024 F3 has three customer accessory circuits. Why would you not use one of these? They're switched ON and OFF with the ignition and already fused. Have they been removed from the 2024?

How much will it help to wrap the exhaust pipe going into cat/primary muffler?

Hey Allen. Heat wrap was a thing for the 998 engine in the RT, especially before the scoop mod was created by BRP. So, I bet you're reading a lot about that engine. The 1330 though, not so much of an issue. If heat still bothers you after you remove the cat, the scoop mod will serve you better...

Need help in Locating the Parking Brake Bracket Part Number? Anyone help?

Joel's last posting was in March, so he checks in from time to time. Plus, the OP in that thread ultimately got another arm sent directly from BRP to his dealer after they submitted a request. You might investigate that route, too. Good Luck.

Unable to switch USB outlets in Rear Trunk to always on 2022 RT S2S

It’ll be easier to work with that connection if you remove the battery. Look for these on the left side of the bike behind the plug hole. Not much slack. Maybe get a plug with pig tails on it. Or…. Just hook up to the battery directly since you want it powered up all the time, anyway. In line...

Unable to switch USB outlets in Rear Trunk to always on 2022 RT S2S

No, they can’t be powered all the time. They’re not powered from the accessory circuit. They’re powered from the Top Case Harness, which is switched. Switching fuses only affects the GPS circuit on the right, forward side, and the accessory connections by the left side of the battery. You could...

Need help in Locating the Parking Brake Bracket Part Number? Anyone help?

What’s wrong Jim, did your bolt fall out? That piece is not a separate part, thus no part number. It’s an integral part of the caliper assembly. However, read through this thread and try to contact Joel The Biker by PM if he’s still around. He’ll make you one. And reminder to all, keep checking...

998cc What is involved in replacing the ignition module? 2011 RT

No, it hasn’t been verified he has a bad DESS module, and that’s my concern, too. Looking at his previous posts in his other thread, all he was getting was Bad Key. That seems to be all you get if the module is bad, but it can come from other issues as well. My objective was to initially give...

998cc What is involved in replacing the ignition module? 2011 RT

Dan, I think it's time you got yourself a Service Manual. 25 bucks. https://brpmanuals.com/product/2010-2011-can-am-spyder-rt-series-repair-and-maintenance-manual-master-collection/ Here's why. Ignition Module is not a well known term. Last month you were dealing with a bad key issue and...

2015 F3 Chirping noise that I cannot locate - any ideas?

Hey Lefty. You have narrowed it down to the belt, which is good. It's not a bearing or anything like that. The belt is much more kevlar than rubber. You didn't hurt it with the belt dressing. It's pretty tough. However, this chirping noise started a long time ago and BRP came out with a paper on...

BUDS New User - cleared codes I'd never seen occur?!

Any chance that either the ECM or the Cluster has been replaced over the years? That screen isn't addressed in the manual. If it was a serious problem, you would get this screen instead, (see pic), and the engine would not run. But to double check, ensure you use BUDS and not BUDS2 on your 2013...

BUDS New User - cleared codes I'd never seen occur?!

Rick. Software updates are embedded in BUDS, and BUDS2 for that matter. The latest version of BUDS is version E3.8.2.1, last updated in 9/23/2016. (Menu Bar-Help-About BUDS) So, when you downloaded that, it contained the update for your 2013. Same stuff the dealers get, different delivery...

Oil leak from Torx screw on the L/H side of the engine - any ideas what/what size?

First of all, Steve; left hand and right-hand sides of ANY vehicle will always be referenced from the aspect of the driver when they are in/on the vehicle. The transmission filter on the 1330 is on the RIGHT hand side of the engine. So, which side of the engine are we really on? Just in case...

998cc Any direction/ideas on replacing the knock sensor?

Actually Maisy, on your engine there are two knock sensors. Just by the way you phrased your question, you don’t seem to be aware of that. So, what’s going on and why do you think you have a knock sensor problem at all? They’re pretty bullet proof.

Anyone else got Poor brakes on their Spyder? Any fixes?

New Spyder. New pads. New rotors. Did you bed them in yet? My brakes will lift me off the seat hardly trying.
