• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Some Red Dust

I would say that any amount of Red Dust indicates too much play in the pulley. That said, yours is early on. I wouldn't be excited at all about riding a trip on it AS IS - BUT - the good thing is - as some others above have stated - you can pull that one off - clean it up - and use the proper...

Check Key - could it be the cell-phone is too close?

It's all about the RF noise. Peter is spot on so I won't repeat what he said. And I agree with Billy, just don't put the phone in the charger until after you've turned the key on and the DESS has recognized the key. Minor inconvenience to use the mount charger you like and when you forget...

    Does your F3-S burble, too?

This would be very easy to see - but would have expected the dealer to say something if they put stock exhaust on there for you. Look at the piece under the middle of the bike - if it's wide - it's the stock primary muffler (what most call the CAT). If it's just a pipe - it's the "CAT Delete...

Ryker 600 +mods vs Ryker Rally - core differences?

Given you are taking away the obvious - the upgraded motor/power - you still have the Rally Mode - which is what sells most on the Rally. While it doesn't turn off the Nanny - it drastically turns her down. You mentioned the hand guards, extra trim pieces, and shocks - I'll say the shocks are...

    canamspyderaccessories F3 hitch adapter

Our best friend has the 4 square on her Spyder and Trailer - and I have the Flat 4 on my Spyder and Vision. I bought a square 4 and flat 4 extension and cut them up to make my own adapter (both ways) - so I can tow her trailer with my stuff - and she can tow my flat 4 with her Spyder if...

Bad Key, not DESS Error - anyone else? Ideas?

I'm glad to hear you are all read up. I am admittedly not nearly as read up as you - but I've also not seen a post yet talk about a 2015 F3 that gave a DESS error - but instead just the Bad Key error. As one who experienced this myself - only ever getting the bad key error - to the point that...

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I prefer a Marco Tornado found on Amazon - same footprint and wiring as the Wolo Bad Boy but louder.

Bad Key, not DESS Error - anyone else? Ideas?

My 2015 F3 never gave an error that said "DESS" but did give the Bad Key Error. Its the same thing - but some dashes say DESS and some don't. It may be sporadic now - but will likely get worse and worse. Couple of points of interest - make sure you don't have a phone or GPS around the key...

    Using maps on cell phone

Waze does not timeout the phone even when not in route. I use Waze for the hazard/police/traffic alerts. Sometimes I have a route programmed in and sometimes I don't. when traveling, I download the area into Google the night before and use Google if I loose cell signal - but you do have to...

How many Spyder owners ride with no extended warranty?

My 2015 F3S didn't have warranty when I bought it in 2019. Didn't bat an eye. Deal was right and I do all my own work. I fail to see how this description of the Tech has any relevance unless you are trying to imply he doesn't know what he's doing - and again - I don't see how the description...

    Ground Effects lighting ?

When installing ground effect lighting - most people want to be able to turn it on when hanging out at a bike show/etc. This is why they are wired directly to the battery (and why I put a switch in line). If you wire to the accessory circuit you will need your key on to have them on.

    Ground Effects lighting ?

I typically put the receiver box under the black plastic covers at the top of the frunk. It's close to the battery and a good point to route all the lights to. When I do an RT like that - I use a dash switch replacement and put the physical switch in the dash - but I'm guessing most installing...

    Ground Effects lighting ?

Do you know which "system" is installed? There's a bunch of random Chinese versions out there. Many use the same frequency and errant local frequencies can cause issues. I always wire a physical switch into the lighting I install so that power can be turned off and the receiver isn't waiting...

F3- Thoughts on a packed gravel road

My Victory Vision is Belt Drive. I've ridden it down many gravel roads. My F3S is Belt Drive - I've ridden it down many gravel roads. There are many many motorcycles made that are belt drive but it seems the Spyder in particular are the group I see with the most concerned people about rocks...

ECU flash - does a Stage 2 cost more than Stage 1?

Very poetically stated Peter. It's amazing fun to keep the Nanny on the edge of her seat. ;-)

    Spyder f3-s panniers/bags

I wasn't a fan of the side loading Shad Bags. Instead - I installed Viking Leather Wrapped Hard Bags with Easy Brackets on my F3S. Off the bike in 30 seconds - have to open them with the key is the only thing I'm not a fan of - but I appreciate that they lock.

ECU flash - does a Stage 2 cost more than Stage 1?

You aren't wrong. Stage 2 gives you more power - but it doesn't stop the nanny from kicking in. No crazy donuts. You just need to learn to co-exist with the Nanny. You can overcome it to an extent but on an RT that's probably at lot less than on my 2015 F3S.

Cannonball or Comfort seat for F3L - anyone tried either?

Dennis in Lodi had a Utopia rider backrest installed - the bracket actually cut the seat a little bit (have another friend who's stock seat was cut by the Utopia bracket as well). I bought Dennis' seat and repaired it for my friend. She has the Show Chrome / Big Bike Parts rider backrest - and...

ECU flash - does a Stage 2 cost more than Stage 1?

The Stage 1 /2 Flash is remapping the ECU in a few ways. First it's changing the fuel air mixture. It's optimizing the engine performance for the fuel you run as well. And lastly - it modifies the throttle response. The Pedal Commander ONLY modifies the throttle response. Think of it this...

ECU flash - does a Stage 2 cost more than Stage 1?

Stage 2 costs more - and you need to send in your airbox lid to have it modified. If you go stage 2 - you need more air flowing through - you get the best bang for the buck by using a K&N air filter and free flowing exhaust. You also will only want to run premium fuel if you do stage 2. Stage...
