• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight

2nd pass, 35min later: 13.398 sec @ 101.47 mph. 60’ was 2.109 sec, 1/8-mile 8.590 sec @ 83.38 mph. Hazed the tire a bit at the top of 1st and into 2nd, and am trying to shift right about 7,000rpm. Thought about leaving traction control on, but I don’t think it’ll be faster if it pulls down...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight

Let it cool down about 40 minutes, then put it on the line. SM6 manual transmission, ran with traction control off. Quite pleased with the first run. Babied it off the line a little too much, and spun a bit in 2nd. Ran 13.534 sec @ 100.11 mph. My 60-foot time was 2.241 sec, and 1/8-mile was...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight

Found myself at a car dealership late this afternoon, and remembered that our local drag strip is open Friday nights for 1/4-mile test-and-tune, so .... Just got teched in. My Daytona is all stock, except for the tires and Route 129 windscreen. Rolled 4001 miles on the odometer when I entered...

    Fed up with Can-Am service!

Have refrained from telling my experience, but will share it here now. We have a ‘15 and a ‘17 F3-S, both needing recall done. Had stopped by the shop (45 miles away) while on a ride to have them look at a few things, as my ‘17 is still under 2-yr basic warranty. The answers to my few questions...

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

In 1990. Bought a used ‘86 Yamaha VMX12 ‘Vmax’ from a friend for cheap - as partial payment for me putting him up in my home for a few months. Was my first street bike. Biggest bike I had owned previous was a Yamaha YZ250, and had ridden a Kawasaki 440LTD about 6 miles once. Anyway, riding test...

Is Blue Ridge or Route 129 w/screen h/ware available separately?

Don’t have my assembly instructions in front of me but, IIRC, the main 3 mounting brackets only come with the R129 or BR kits.

Doing my first Iron Butt tonight!

Good on you blacklightning for getting it done! I’m sure you learned a lot about how you could do the next one better. Did all my IBA rides on my Honda CTX1300. My first was a SaddleSore1000, totaling 1,095 miles in 20hr 47min with 11 stops. A little rain, good roads, but lots of rural stuff...

Doing my first Iron Butt tonight!

The biggest help for a successful SS1000 should be done at home ... in your easy chair. PLAN EVERYTHING OUT. If you KNOW you can go, say, 175 miles per tank at a given speed (figure in a headwind, as well), then sit down with Google maps and find fuel stations at the 160 to 175 mile point...

Any recommendations for Spyder hauling Trailer rentals?

A UHaul 6’x12’ enclosed will work - but ONLY if it’s the swing-open door (NOT the roll-up door). Will have to take/get ramps to load it. My wife hauled hers over 550 miles like that. No problems.

Would you buy a Chinese motorycle?

Have spent the last two days researching a 2020 SSR Motorsport (BSA) enduro/motorcross bike, the SR300S. Looks to be a VERY good copy of (mostly) Honda CRF parts, with a very common Chinese engine that is proving to be very reliable. Might be in my future ...

How many miles on your current Spyder?

Bought my ‘17 F3-S Daytona 500 SM6 in June of 2022, new, untitled, with 73.3 miles on it. On 01Jan23, have 3,433 miles on it.

The continued emasculation of the NFL

They haven’t “played” a Pro Bowl game in over 20 years. It’s a joke. At least now they’re admitting what it’s been all along ... a flag football game.

    Anyone shipped their Spyder?

^^^ True this. My delivery driver showed me his Harley in the truck. That’s how he gets around when parked for the night.

    Anyone shipped their Spyder?

Had mine shipped 1,370 miles, Michigan to south Texas. This past year. Used HaulBikes. Took a little longer than I wanted, but was very happy with them. Use 1st rate equipment, hauling only bikes/trikes/reverse trikes. Attaching link to another thread. Post #10 has pics of their rigs...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Installed a RLS primary muffler delete on the wife’s ‘15 F3-S, without the baffle, and retained stock tailpipe. Sounds good in the driveway. Probably take both out for a ride this weekend. Good-looking, quality piece.

Battery Tenders - should you use them or not?

Living in south Texas and riding year round, I very seldom use the tender. Only plugged my CTX1300 in once in 4-1/2 years. Have had my wife’s F3-S on it a couple times, but she doesn’t ride as often (or as far) as I do. My “quick rides” are usually around 25-30 miles. But ... I do have a Battery...
