• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Too hot to ryde!

Yep, it's hot. 6 straight days @ 111 degrees. Now 5 straight days @ 112. I ride early, around 6am when it's only 85 or so. No midday, afternoon, or evening riding, as even at 9pm it's still 95-98. Yep, it's hot.

A question - does your pillion feel crowded by the riders backrest?

For those of you who use a rider's backrest - on an RT specifically - does your spouse/significant other feel crowded by it? I'm considering getting one, but the wife has concerns about her comfort and ability to mount/dismount. I know that most if not all of them fold down for just that reason...

How does the Airhawk seat stay in place?

They sure do. That happened on the first one that I had, which was replaced under warranty. The second one, my mother-in-law did some additional sewing on the straps, and that solved the problem. I've had it for maybe 5 years now with no problems. And to me, it is really comfortable and allows...

    Too hot to ryde!

Ten straight days of 100 plus degrees here, 109 yesterday. Much as I love riding, it is really too hot, since I insist on wearing full gear. Even with a mesh "summer jacket" it's too darn hot.

Got an Ez-pass? Where did you mount it on your Spyder RT ?????

When I lived in CT, that's where I put it. Only a couple places where it didn't work, The Bear Mountain Bridge, and the Newburg Bridge. Was fine anywhere else.

What do you do for Emergency Assistance on Far/interstate Road-trips?

AAA for sure. With AAA Plus, you get 100 miles of towing before it starts coming out of your pocket. Saved my bacon, unfortunately, too many times with my 2013 RTL ( The White Elephant).

Front Sproket - recall or wear and tear?

Most definitely push for the recall. All it will cost you is time.

Huge thanks to Netzley for deactivating DESS!

I'll admit to ignorance on my part, but other than telling you that your two good keys are bad, what exactly does the DESS module do? I know there have been many threads on this, particularly Deanna's that goes waaaaaay back, but wading through them made my head hurt. Also, what does it take to...

Want to replace Reverse lights with brighter LED's - any sources/part numbers?

EdMat, was this an easy install or a PITA?

    The Liberation of Europe begins.

It seems to me that today's younger generation really has no idea what D-Day was, the reasons behind it, or even who the combatants were in WW2. Either these kids were asleep during history class, or more likely, are not even taught anything about WW2 or the many brave men and women who...

    Rewaco is back

At $50K? No thanks, my pockets ain't nearly that deep, and the thing is butt ugly anyway. :wrong:

What the heck is this thing? 2017 RT

Kind of looks like the air filter cover/cap, but not sure. Owners manual shows you what panels on the left side to remove in order to get to the filter. If is is the cap, might as well pull the filter, inspect the filter housing, clean if necessary, and replace the filter. I replaced my stock...

Do I need to do any more about last year's pulley recall on my F3?

I would get it done, or you may end up being very unhappy.

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

I find it interesting that the gentleman divulged that BRP replaced his Spyder. I wonder if BRP was forced by verdict to give him a new Spyder, in which case the order would be a matter of public record, or if they settled prior to a trial, which most certainly result in his having to sign a gag...

Part number for rubber antenna boot

You could go this route from Spyderpops, a site sponsor here. I did, and found that the boot that comes with it actually fits better then OEM. https://spyderpops.com/rubber-spiral-wrap-antenna-all-rt-f3-t-and-st-models/

what kind of music do you like?

Big Band, Bluegrass, Crooners (Sinatra, etc.), REAL country-the good old stuff, not "pop" country, which is nauseating-at least to me, Jazz-McCoy Tyner, Miles Davis, Art Pepper, etc., old time Rock & Roll, the list goes on, and it's all on my phone so I can hear it in my helmet as I cruise along...

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Too true. A helmet saved my noggin in 1976 when I was forced off the road on a blind curve by a car coming right at me in my lane. Scary as hell. Got a fair amount of road rash and a pretty good headache, but I walked away. The bike, however, was another story. And of course, the car driver...

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, that one and some others are out there, but stupid expensive. And who warranties what? What about dealer support? Not that BRP is great in that department. Just my opinion, but a ground up design beats a conversion kit.

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

Uh, maybe emissions requirements, which throttle horsepower, mileage requirements, which also throttle horsepower. Those good 'ole GM V8's & Mopar Hemi's sucked gas like crazy, and 5,00 pound land yachts got maybe 8-10 mpg going downhill with a tailwind. But hey, who cared? There were no...
